EFL Cup Tuesday Best Bets: Peterborough v Barnsley, West Ham v Fulham and Reading v Brentford

William Hill News tipster @Footy_Tipster previews Tuesday’s EFL Cup action from across the country.

The EFL Cup returns for Round 3.

Two League One sides battle it out as Peterborough face Barnsley, before West Ham United and Fulham meet in an all-London affair.

At 8pm, we’ve got three encounters taking place, Reading welcome Premier League side Brentford, Ipswich Town welcome Arsenal, whilst Liverpool face Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield.

Now, let’s take a closer look at some EFL Cup odds and betting angles for Tuesday’s fixtures:

Peterborough v Barnsley – Tuesday, 7.30pm

Peterborough preview – Winless in their last four league games but progressed through after an emphatic 5-1 victory against Watford in round 2, winless in their last six meetings against Barnsley in all competitions.

Barnsley preview – Barnsley sit eighteenth in League One and just two points above Peterborough, they beat Crewe 3-2 in the previous round but head into this one off the back of two big defeats in the league (5-1 v Stevenage, 3-0 v Plymouth).

Prediction: Away Win (19/10) – Peterborough 0-1 Barnsley (9/1)

West Ham v Fulham – Tuesday, 7.45pm

West Ham preview – West Ham are starting to find some real form now in the Championship after a slow start, they’re now unbeaten in their last six games in all competitions, including victory against Southampton in round 2.

Fulham preview – Fulham beat AFC Wimbledon in round 2 but that remains their only victory this season in their five games, they make the trip to east London having won just two of their last fourteen visits.

Prediction: Home Win (2/1) – West Ham 2-1 Fulham (9/1)

Reading v Brentford – Tuesday, 8pm

Reading preview – Reading remain just one of four sides representing the EFL League One in round three, they welcome Premier League side Brentford on Tuesday off a 2-1 defeat at Cambridge on Saturday.

Bradford preview – Brentford would love a real cup run and you feel this is their chance, they travel to Reading having gone unbeaten in all five games this season, including a 6-1 thumping away at Birmingham in the previous round.

Prediction: Away Win (3/10) – Reading 0-3 Brentford (17/2)
