Punter Wins £45,000 From Just £1 After Landing 18-Fold Accumulator
Liverpool’s comeback victory at Brentford helped a William Hill customer turn a £1.14 football accumulator into a £45,187.77 return, with Alexander Isak’s winner keeping the remarkable 18-fold on track.
The Reds trailed 1-0 before fighting back to win 2-1, securing one of 18 winning selections on the customer’s bet. Liverpool had been backed at 13/8, while Cambridge supplied another crucial moment of drama with a 90th-minute winner at Barnsley.
The winning bet returned £45,187.77, including £10,000 added through William Hill’s Acca Boost offer.
The customer combined selections across English, Scottish and European football. Alongside Liverpool, Fulham, Manchester City and Aston Villa all obliged, with Villa backed at 9/5 to win at Newcastle.
Portsmouth were the biggest-priced individual selection at 3/1 to win at Norwich, while Cambridge’s victory was backed at 6/4. Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan and Roma also contributed to the successful accumulator.
William Hill’s spokesperson, Lee Phelps, said: “Alexander Isak’s winner was worth three points to Liverpool, but it also played a crucial part in an outstanding £45,187.77 return for one of our customers.
“With Liverpool trailing at Brentford, this 18-fold was in real danger. Their comeback kept it alive, while Cambridge’s 90th-minute winner provided another moment where the bet could have gone either way.
“Getting all 18 selections right is an extraordinary result. The customer’s £1.14 stake returned more than £45,000, including £10,000 through our Acca Boost offer, so it’s sure to have been a weekend to remember for this punter!”
