F1 Mexico Grand Prix Betting Tips 2026: Leclerc Value At 21/20 For Podium Finish

| BY Sam Cox

Max Verstappen is the F1 betting favourite for the Mexican Grand Prix ahead of Kimi Antonelli and William Hill News preview this weekend’s big race.

Antonelli dominated the United States Grand Prix last weekend. He upheld his end of the bargain in an attempt to seal the Drivers’ Championship, but Lewis Hamilton and George Russell are still technically in contention.

Mexico Grand Prix Winner Odds

  • Max Verstappen – 11/8
  • Kimi Antonelli – 7/4
  • Charles Leclerc – 8/1
  • Lewis Hamilton – 9/1
  • George Russell – 14/1
  • Lando Norris – 16/1

A finish of ninth or higher will see Antonelli crowned champion in Mexico, however. Even if he doesn’t score the required two points, he will be champion if Hamilton and Russell fail to win the race.

Mexico Grand Prix Best Bets

  • Charles Leclerc top 3 finish (21/20)
  • Franco Colapinto top 10 finish (7/4)
  • Pierre Gasly top 10 finish (8/11)
  • Both Alpines top 10 (4/1)

Charles Leclerc has a great record at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. He’s registered back-to-back podium finishes and hasn’t been outside the top four in the last five races. It’s not the ideal track for the Ferraris, but we still think there’s betting value backing Leclerc to finish in the top three.

Franco Colapinto has the Mercedes power unit behind him, which is an immediate advantage at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. Monza and Montreal have some similar characteristics to this weekend’s race, and Colapinto landed in the points on both occasions. Yes, neither are a perfect comparison given the altitude in Mexico City, but it’s still a decent indicator of success.

Pierre Gasly, like Colapinto, has all the benefits of the Mercedes power unit. Gasly’s 10th last weekend was his first points finish in five races, but his total of 42 points puts him 10th in the Drivers’ Championship.

Gasly was eighth in Canada and seventh in Italy. Mexico has been a mixed bag in his career to date, but this type of circuit has generally been favourable over the last few years.

The Circuit

Located at more than two kilometres above sea level, the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez is a unique challenge for teams and drivers alike. Thin air is demanding on power units, and extremely high-downforce setups are required.

Long straights into the first and fourth corners present the primary overtaking opportunities.

The middle sector features high-speed corners before tighter turns in the final sector, including the iconic section through an old baseball stadium.

Between 2017 and 2023, Verstappen’s Red Bull won five out of six races at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. The Ferrari of Carlos Sainz Jr. and Lando Norris’ McLaren came out on top in 2024 and 2025, respectively.

The altitude makes Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez a near-unique circuit. The long straights and heavy braking zones draw similarities with Monza and Montreal, though.

Recent Trends

Charles Leclerc has three consecutive podiums in Mexico and has registered consecutive runner-up placings. His only race win of the year came at Silverstone, and the Ferrari power unit may struggle with the demands of Mexico City.

The good form of Arvid Lindblad has waned with consecutive finishes outside the points. Lewis Hamilton has a solitary podium since his home Grand Prix, while Oscar Piastri has been thoroughly outraced by Lando Norris over the last few months. The Australian hasn’t finished higher than fifth since Austria.

Ollie Bearman finished fourth in this race 12 months ago. He’s only had one points finish in the last 13 races – does a return to Mexico City bring a change in fortunes?

Disappointing results in Madrid, Baku, and Malaysia were a setback for Pierre Gasly, but the Frenchman has bounced back with an 11th in Singapore and a 10th in Austin.
