Breeders Cup Best Bets For Saturday: Godolphin Raider Heads Tips On Day 2 At Keeneland

Live television coverage of Saturday’s Breeders’ Cup will be broadcast on ITV4 (and streaming on ITVX) and William Hill News bring you selections for each televised race at Keeneland on Day 2 of the meeting.

The programme runs from 8:00pm to 10:45pm GMT on Saturday, 31 October 2026, showcasing four marquee championship races from Keeneland.

Our horse racing expert Steven Mullington suggests a horse to follow in all four televised races:

8.20pm – Breeders’ Cup Mile (1m turf)

Charlie Appleby and William Buick have dominated this race in recent years, winning four of the last five renewals.

They team up in this with NOTABLE SPEECH (NAP) who is rated a massive 7lb clear of his nearest rivals.

He comes into the race in a rich vein of form after victories at home in the Lockinge and the City of York Stakes, followed by an excellent prep where he demolished the field in the Woodbine Mile.

At even money in our horse racing betting, it’s extremely difficult to see any other horse even coming close to him.

8.58pm – Breeders’ Cup Distaff (1m1½f dirt for fillies and mares)

Last year’s champion three-year-old filly NITROGEN has been a revelation this year, routing her own sex by double-digit margins and even managing to finish a gutsy second against the boys in the Grade 1 Whitney.

She won her final prep in the Beldame, but you should see her dominant on the front end in a race of this magnitude.

9.36pm – Breeders’ Cup Turf (1m4f turf)

SURVIE has always been a favourite of mine since she was trained in France and I thoroughly believe she holds a good each-way chance in the Turf.

I was there at Chantilly the day she was agonisingly beaten by a head in the Prix de Diane, and since then she’s been on somewhat of a globetrotting adventure.

While she has struggled somewhat in top-tier company in Europe, she has absolutely loved the US turf tracks, recording back-to-back victories in the Grade 2 Glens Falls and in the Grade 1 Christophe Clement Turf Stakes at Saratoga.

Trainer George Boughey has jocked up Flavien Prat who is regarded as the number one turf jockey at Keeneland, so she’s an each-way play all day for me.

10.15pm – Breeders’ Cup Classic (1m2f dirt)

The Japanese superstar FOREVER YOUNG (NAP) is attempting to join Tiznow as only the second horse ever to win the Breeders’ Cup Classic twice.

The five-year-old has never finished outside the top three in his entire eleven-race career and he is an exceptionally tough, durable horse.

At odds of 9/4 he is a solid bet in the feature race of the weekend.
