Donald Trump Impeachment Odds: 1/4 For US President To Be Impeached During Second Term
US President Donald Trump’s chances of impeachment have shortened dramatically after the Republican Party suffered a damning defeat in the US midterm elections.
Following that defeat, there was immediate discussion surrounding whether the Democrats would impeach Trump – though the President warned that an attempt to do that would backfire on the party.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Trump questioned the prospect of a third impeachment and stated: “I think it would destroy the Democrat party if they did that.
“Impeachment for no reason, what for having a successful country? Our country is more successful now than at any time in its history.”
Will Donald Trump be impeached?
- Yes – 1/4
- No – 11/4
Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “Following a resounding victory for the Democrats in the US midterm elections, we’ve had to shorten Donald Trump’s odds of impeachment during his second term into 1/4 from 4/7.
“That price implies an 80% chance the US President is impeached, and suggests a rough ride may lie ahead for Trump, with over two years left of his second term in the White House.”
