The Detroit Lions will make the trek to Chicago, Illinois to face the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field. Matt Nagy’s men sit atop the NFC North table and will be looking to secure safe passage to the playoffs this Sunday with another win.
Bears vs Lions: form and predictions
The Chicago Bear’s swept away a talented Bill’s side last week, and come into this Sunday’s clash as firm favourites.
Jordan Howard made the headlines with his two rushing touchdowns that led the way for a Mitch Trubisky master-class.
The 24-year-old secured a handsome win for under 200 yards, with his receivers coming up with the goods against Sean McDermott’s men.
As the first projection in our Bears vs Lions predictions and betting tips, we’re forecasting the home side to emerge as victors and take their record to 6-3.
Yet despite sitting in a superior position in the NFC North standings, they could still be undone by the Lions.
Matthew Stafford and co have struggled for form, but glimpses of individual brilliance in their offensive line means they still have a chance to snatch an away win.
Chiefly in Kerryon Johnson who has been the shining star in this Lions team. The 21-year-old clinched over 150 yards in their clash against the Miami Dolphins and will be a handful for the Bears defence.
So, while we’ve made Trubisky’s side our pick to win as part of our Bears vs Lions predictions, we’re betting that it’ll be a challenging game for Nagy’s side with multiple attacking threats present in the Lions team.
Bears vs Bills predictions: match bets
Match predictions: Bears to win, tipped @ 5/14
The Bears playing at home in front of their fans has persuaded our betting tipsters to wager in their favour.
Odds of 5/14 are still pretty short, but given the scintillating form they’re in, the return value should be worth the stake.
The Bears’ quarterback impressed last week against the Bills, with not only his throwing but also his running game in the pocket. Trubisky’s quick-thinking got his side out of a few tricky situations, allowing him to find his target receivers.
The first match bet in our Bears vs Lions predictions forecast the 24-year-old to continue his form into this Sunday’s clash and lead his side to a win.
Best bet: game to go to overtime, trading @ 9/1
This will be a must-win game for the Lions if they are to claw their way to a potential play-off place, and we’re expecting them to take things down to the wire this Sunday.
With the overtime odds tipped at 9/1, the Lions will need to beat the Bears at their rushing game, which will require an attacking defensive formation.
Yet despite the game going into fifth gear, we’re still making the Bears our pick to win after extra time.
First turnover: Detroit Lions to overturn the ball, wagering @ 3/4
Stafford has already suffered six interceptions in his opening eight games for the Lions, and the last of our Bears vs Lions predictions and betting tips are wagering that he’ll repeat his turnover habits this Sunday.
Up against a Bears defence capable of sacking frequently over four quarters, these fumbles and mistakes will occur more often, leading to the Lion’s demise.
The Lions will have to keep an eye out for Adrian Amos, who was a nuisance for the Bills last week, causing intercepted play for Josh Allen and co.
