The Detroit Lions will host the Green Bay Packers this Sunday at Ford Field, 6pm GMT. Mike McCarthy’s men have had a stop-start beginning to their season and will want to cement a win on the road against fierce opposition.
Lions vs Packers: Form and team news
After a tough defeat to the Redskins, Aaron Rodger’s side is on the up and will be on a high from last Sunday’s 22 point trouncing against the Bills.
Jimmy Graham and Randall Cobbs were features of Rodger’s offensive play, with the former combining with his quarterback to seal the win for the Packers.
As the first bet in our Lions vs Packers predictions, we’re tipping Mike McCarthy’s men to emerge as victors away from home.
They will face tough opponents in the Detroit Lions. Matt Patricia’s side cemented an impressive victory against Tom Brady’s Patriots, and despite a narrow loss last week to the Cowboys, they have shown that they possess a top quality quarterback in Matthew Stafford to challenge Green Bay this Sunday.
Aside from Stafford, the Lion’s running-backs were especially notable in last weeks defeat to Jason Garett’s men. Kerryon Johnson and Golden Tate caused the Cowboys all sorts of defensive problems, with the former man running a touchdown for his side.
So, while we’ve made Aaron Rodgers side our pick to win as part of the Lions vs Packers predictions, we’re betting that it’ll be a challenging game for McCarthy’s side with multiple threats in the Lions team.

Money line bet: Packers to win, trading @ 4/5
McCarthy’s side is our pick to win, with a money line bet wagering them at 4/5.
They’ve been tipped as underdogs, as they will have to travel to the Ford Stadium, and have struggled for form away from Lambeau Field.
But with Rodgers pulling through with some unplayable throws, combined with the impressive performances from their wide receivers, Green Bay looks to cement back-to-back wins for the first time this year.
This makes the money line bet spun by our traders perhaps the wisest to punt on as part of our Lions vs Packers predictions.
While Green Bay have conceded plenty of touchdowns, their offense has also proved that they are capable of winning games in the dying moments of the last quarter.
The last installation of our Lions vs Packers predictions takes a look at this by suggesting that they’ll win by a narrow margin of 1-6 points.
We’ve already witnessed Rodgers do this against the Bears in their first game, where they came back from 23-0, to win 24-23 in the last quarter, thanks to some unplayable throwing from the 34-year-old.
Yet, considering that the Cheeseheads are playing against significantly stricter opposition away from home, we’re betting that they won’t repeat that same heroic.
But Aaron Rodgers on a winning high after last week’s performances, makes odds of 17/5 seem like easy money, with the prospect of the Green Bay quarterback rising to the occasion.
