NFL week 10 preview: Bills hoping to bounce back

| BY News Team

Each of the NFL divisions are beginning to take shape with the race for the playoffs very much on. There were some interesting results last week, with the Jets’ win over the Bills perhaps the most surprising, while the Eagles continued their perfect start to the season.

We’ve got another good set of fixtures this weekend, including the first NFL game played in Germany as the Seahawks take on the Buccaneers.

Seattle Seahawks @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

As mentioned, this is the first NFL game in Germany – at Munich’s Allianz Arena –  and on paper it looks a very tight affair. That hasn’t always been said about international games in the NFL but this one looks a real toss of the coin with both sides having plenty of strengths as well as weaknesses.

Both sit top of their respective divisions, but while Tampa Bay would have expected to be there in the NFC South that might not have been the case with Seattle (5/4), who sit at the head of affairs in the NFC West despite losing star quarterback Russell Wilson to Denver in the off-season. His replacement, Geno Smith, has done a really good job with the 241 points the Seahawks have scored so far only bettered by the Patrick Mahomes-led Kansas City Chiefs. They are 6-3 and on a four-game winning streak. Another win here would be very handy as they chase a spot in the playoffs.

They take on a Tampa Bay (20/29) side who have certainly not been at their best this year and, although top of the NFC South, have a losing record of 4-5. Any team that has the great Tom Brady as their quarterback won’t stand for that and this feels like a very important game for the Buccaneers. Make no mistake, Brady has plenty of weapons at his disposal with the likes of Mike Evans, Leonard Fournette and Chris Godwin and while they haven’t been at their free-flowing best, Seattle tend to concede plenty of territory and points, so the 10/11 about over 44.5 points could be of interest.

Minnesota Vikings @ Buffalo Bills

Another intriguing contest that sees two sides that top their respective divisions go head-to-head. The hosts are in very good form having won their last six, meaning they are well on top in the NFC North. Many view Kirk Cousins as a somewhat limited QB but he’s been solid so far this season and when you have a receiver of Justin Jefferson’s quality, you always have a chance.

Despite their good start, a trip to Buffalo is no easy task and the Vikings are the outsiders for this one at 39/20.

Buffalo are still the team to beat according to the outright Super Bowl prices at 11/4, though they’ll need to bounce back from a disappointing defeat to divisional rivals the Jets last weekend. They never really got going there and on balance the Jets probably deserved it.

Both of the Bills’ defeats this year have come on the road, but as we know they are a different animal at home in Buffalo. Over the past couple of years, they have put good teams to the sword on their home turf and the oddsmakers expect a similar trend here, with the Bills the 10/23 favourites.
