NFL Week Four preview: Lions can take advantage of depleted Packers

The NFL is now in full swing and we are starting to see this season’s key teams and players emerging. Join us as we take a deep dive into the fourth week of games in the NFL.
We preview two of the games below.
Detroit Lions @ Green Bay Packers – Friday 01:15 (UK)
This is a matchup which sees neither team at full strength as they both continue to nurse key players back to match fitness, making it a tricky one to call.
With Aaron Rodgers departing this summer, there was a new lease of life for quarterback Jordan Love who has failed to impress at the Packers since joining in 2020 as a first round draft pick.
Love hasn’t had the perfect start to the season but many in Green Bay are still positive and feel that he is being forced to attempt too many low percentage hero passes, which hinder his performances. Love is certainly a talented player and when he gets it right he can be an amazing asset, which could see his odds of 5/6 to throw over 231.5 passing yards present good value.
The Packers are 1-0 at home so far this season and that is not a record which they will want tarnished this early, but as 4/5 favourites to win the game we think the Lions could well leapfrog the Packers at the top of the NFC North.
The Lions defence will be rejuvenated for this matchup and they are currently on a 3-match winning streak against the Packers which they will be determined to continue. The Lions will be hoping to have star man David Montgomery back on the field and if they do then we make him one of the main threats to score a touchdown at 13/10.

Kansas City Chiefs @ New York Jets – Monday 01:20 (UK)
The Kansas City Chiefs have been the subject of increased media interest, but maybe not for the reasons they would have expected after the army of ‘Swifties’ descended on their team when Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship went public.
We are sure Kelce’s focus will be fully on the New York Jets heading into this week’s matches with his side wanting to live up to their status as overwhelming favourites to win this match at 5/22.
Patrick Mahomes is the household name for the Chiefs and he is almost guaranteed to perform once again with the likes of Kelce and Chris Jones returning to sure up the other areas of the team. Mahomes will be hoping to bolster his statistics in what should be a comfortable game for him. There is no doubt the Chiefs will look to set the tone early and scoring the first touchdown (10/17) would certainly go some way to doing that.
With the Jets sitting bottom of the AFC East it seems that they have little to look forward to here as 18/5 underdogs, and it could well be a case of trying to preserve a respectable scoreline for Robert Saleh’s men.
