The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will host Sunday’s clash between the Cleveland Browns and the Minnesota Vikings, kicking off the first of three successive weekends of NFL action in London.
The Vikings (2-2) fell to a narrow 24-21 defeat to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Dublin last week but they are clear favourites to get back to winning ways when they take on the Browns (1-3) on Sunday afternoon.
No matter what happens in Sunday’s contest, the Browns are set to make history as rookie Dillon Gabriel will become the first quarterback to make his first NFL start in an overseas game. That’s one for any NFL quizzers out there…

There’s a fair bit of pressure on Gabriel’s shoulders and the Vikings defence will be looking to attack early on. While the Browns are likely to lean heavily on the running game, Minnesota will stack the box and keep things tight.
The Browns offensive line are plagued with injuries and Minnesota will smell blood. It’s a baptism of fire for any young quarterback when they play against a competent defensive line yet alone taking a new time-zone and injuries into account.
Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell will want his team to keep things simple and that could be enough to come away with the win. It might not be the most exciting NFL London contest of all time but Minnesota won’t care if they move to 3-2 on the year.
Defences could well come out on top and the under 33.5 points mark at 21/20 looks realistic to my eye. Expect both teams to keep the clock running and this could end up being one of the fastest contests in NFL International Series history.
