NFL Conference Championships Betting Tips And Predictions
On Sunday, 26 January, the NFL Conference Championships will book two teams’ passage to Super Bowl LIX down in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The round begins at 8pm UK time with the Washington Commanders visiting the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Conference Championship. At 11:30pm, it’ll be the Buffalo Bills versus the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC bracket.
If the favourites win, we’ll see a repeat of Super Bowl LVII from 2022, which the Chiefs won by a three-point margin, but there’s always a chance for an upset or two at this stage of the season!
These are the NFL tips and picks for betting on the 2025 Conference Championship Weekend.
Washington Commanders at Philadelphia Eagles
Last week, the league-leading Philadelphia Eagles defence once again stood tall to ease the burden on its struggling quarterback play. On offence, Saquon Barkley’s 205 yards and two touchdowns were the difference-makers.
Holding the Los Angeles Rams to seven or fewer points per quarter, the defensive effort was integral to counter Jalen Hurts’ 15 from 20 passing for 128 yards, who’s still seemingly a bit off since his concussion and now has a leg injury.
In the shock of the NFL Divisional Round, the Washington Commanders went to the lion’s den and ousted Detroit 45-31. Nailing 28 points in the second quarter was certainly a shock to the system for the Detroit Lions.
By the end of play, Jayden Daniels had tallied 299 yards passing and a clean 350 from scrimmage, passing for two touchdowns in doing so. Brian Robinson also ran well, averaging 5.13 yards per carry to collect a couple of scores.
However, history isn’t on Daniels’ side to go any further. The five rookies who have made it to this stage before have all failed to win, but the Commanders QB does have a Week 16, five-touchdown win over the Eagles in his back pocket.
The American football betting lines also aren’t on Daniels’ side, with the Eagles the heavy favourites. Still, the picks here go to the game beating the 47.5 total points over, and both Barkley and Daniels scoring anytime TDs.
Buffalo Bills at Kansas City Chiefs
For a shot at getting to the AFC Conference Game again, the Kansas City Chiefs had to get past the Houston Texans, which they did in succinct fashion for the 23-14 triumph at Arrowhead Stadium.
However, their fairly straightforward win was overshadowed by officiating calls, with some seeing Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs getting a bit of preferential treatment – particularly when it came to hitting the QB.
In what was easily the most closely contested game of the Divisional Round, on paper and on the field, the Buffalo Bills managed to outlast the Baltimore Ravens to gain passage with a 27-25 win.
Again, errors halted the Ravens, with surprise drops and fumbles from Mark Andrews highlighting the mistakes. The Bills happily pounced on these chances, continuing to burn the clock as much as possible between scores.
Two big stats come up for the QBs in this one. Josh Allen is 4-1 against Patrick Mahomes in the regular season, with that loss being their first meet. However, Mahomes is 3-0 against Allen in the postseason.
Allen will be more confident than usual coming into this one, having run for 55 yards and a TD in Week 11 to hand the Chiefs their first loss of the season, and his skills seemingly being the perfect foil for Kansas City’s aggressive defensive front.
A lot of punters looking at this one will wait for the live betting odds after seeing how well Allen and Mahomes do early on, but the pre-game picks here go to Allen beating the over 9.5 for rushing attempts and over 47.5 for rushing yards, as well as Travis Kelce beating his over of 68.5 receiving yards.
In two very close contests, the picks go to the stars of the show getting in the end zone and putting up plenty of yards to try to pull their respective teams to Super Bowl LIX.
