The NFC South division is arguably the weakest in the NFL, home to both the Carolina Panthers and New Orleans Saints, who have historically been bad, especially in recent years.

The other two teams are the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Atlanta Falcons. Tampa Bay has been a consistently good team that has finished first in the division four years consecutively.

NFC South Odds 2025:

  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers – EVS

The wildcard is the Atlanta Falcons. A team that has struggled mightily in the past, the Falcons have lots of emerging talent. Is this the season they put it all together?

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (EVS)

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are even-money favorites to win a fifth straight NFC South title in 2025.

QB Baker Mayfield is in his prime, and passing for over 4,000 yards and more than 40 touchdowns seems likely after a career-best season of over 4,500 yards and 41 touchdowns last year.

The Buccaneers have an imposing pass rush and a talented secondary. They should challenge for the Super Bowl.

Atlanta Falcons (11/5)

It’s been seven years since the Atlanta Falcons made the playoffs. That could change this year.

Second-year quarterback Michael Penix Jr. is an upgrade over former starter Kirk Cousins. Penix has the deep-ball accuracy to open up more big plays in the pass game.

Combine that with dual-threat running back Bijan Robinson, who could lead the league in rushing yards, and Atlanta will have a potent offense.

Carolina Panthers (4/1)

The Carolina Panthers finished strong in 2024 and had a good draft. There is reason to believe the beleaguered organization has turned a corner. Still, to bet Carolina to make the playoffs is a stretch.

The Panthers defense must improve for the team to take a step forward. Last year, they allowed the third-most points per game (31.4) of any team in the past 20 years.

QB Bryce Young has shown potential but is still finding his footing in the league.

Carolina is trending upward. They are a bold underdog pick for regular season wins milestones.

New Orleans Saints (11/1)

Fancy a bet on the worst team in the league? New Orleans should top the list.

After years of rotating ineffective quarterbacks, the Saints have made the surprising decision to start second-round pick Tyler Shough, who is raw and lacks experience, having played just one full season of college football.

Shough should get lots of playing time and plays QB, so he could find himself in the Offensive Rookie of the Year conversation.
