There is a compelling argument to be made that the NFC West is the most competitive in the NFL. The parity among the 49ers, Rams, Seahawks and Cardinals will make this division fun to follow and bet all season long.

The 49ers have been consistently good aside from their disaster season last year that saw injuries derail the team’s chances. Can they return to their previous form this season?

The Rams have Matt Stafford, Davante Adams, and Kyren Williams leading a formidable offense. But can the Rams overcome a weak defense?

NFC West Odds 2025:

  • San Francisco 49ers – 6/4
  • Los Angeles Rams – 7/4
  • Arizona Cardinals – 4/1
  • Seattle Seahawks – 11/2

The Seahawks signed breakout QB Sam Darnold to lead their offense. Will Darnold prove last year wasn’t a fluke?

And the often overlooked Cardinals can put up points, but can they prevent them? Here are some points to consider when making your bets on which team will win the division.

San Francisco 49ers (6/4)

The San Francisco 49ers won just six games last season and finished last in the division. This year, there is reason for optimism. They are predicted to rebound and win the NFC West division.

The 49ers have the league’s easiest schedule. Brock Purdy has proven to be an effective QB. And with a healthy Christian McCaffery at RB they have a dynamic playmaker who is a strong candidate for Comeback Player of the Year.

If the 49ers do rebound with a successful season, they will need better performances from defense and special teams. The 49ers finished 29th in the league in points allowed.

Defensive guru Robert Saleh returns to the organization as Defensive Coordinator. Management used their first five picks in this year’s draft on defensive players. The young talent will be counted on.

Los Angeles Rams (7/4)

The Los Angeles Rams are expected to finish second according to the latest NFC West odds. Matt Stafford returns for his fifth season with the Rams and has proven to be a capable leader.

New acquisition Davante Adams, along with Puka Nacua, gives Stafford an elite receiving duo at WR. And RB Kyren Williams continues to improve. The offense should put up points.

The question is, can the defense prevent them? The run defense was ranked 26th last year. The secondary is prone to giving up big plays and lacks depth. If the Rams can address those issues a Super Bowl run is possible.

Arizona Cardinals (4/1)

If the Cardinals find success this season, it will largely be a result of their improved defense and Kyler Murray returning to peak form. The Arizona defense was average last year.

Management sought to improve the group in the off-season, using their first five picks in the draft on defensive talent while also upgrading at Defensive Tackle and Edge Rush through notable free agent signings.

At QB, Kyler Murray is coming off a good season throwing the ball, but he seems to have lost his explosiveness running the ball. Murray disagrees, saying his knee is now fully recovered from a 2024 injury and that he plans to rush the ball much more this year.

If both the rebuilt offense and Kyler Murray have big years, the playoffs are very likely for the Cardinals.

Seattle Seahawks (11/2)

The Seahawks are a very intriguing team with plenty of upside. The old adage that defense wins championships is true, and from Week 10 onward the Seahawks ranked top-five in the NFL.

If that maturation and improvement continues, it will set the table for a successful season.

The wild-card is newly signed Sam Darnold at QB. Darnold was a revelation last year in Minnesota. Can Seattle’s offensive line give Darnold the protection he needs to thrive?

If not, Darnold is more likely to revert to his 2018-2023 form which included plenty of struggles.
