NFL Betting Tips And Predictions For Week 18

For some teams, the NFL regular season was all wrapped up and finished weeks ago, and with the way many of the divisions have shaken out, particularly in the AFC, a fair few teams don’t gain anything by winning this week.
So, expect Week 18 in the NFL to feature plenty of rested stars, including those of the Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills, and maybe the Lions and Vikings will just run out back-ups when they meet!
It adds a key element to consider in the NFL betting this week, so the tips and picks for Week 18 will try to focus on teams that have more to play for and are leaning towards playing their best line-ups at the time of writing.
Washington Commanders at Dallas Cowboys
It was another rip-roaring display from the Washington Commanders last week, who had to adjust tremendously to contain the threat of the Atlanta Falcons backfield.
Bijan Robinson obliterated the Commanders in the first half, but in the second, they smothered the rookie rusher while Jayden Daniels masterfully orchestrated the comeback to eventually triumph 30-24 in overtime at home.
For the Dallas Cowboys, it was another week to forget. With CeeDee Lamb shutdown, the only role of the offence against the Philadelphia Eagles was teeing up scoring opportunities for the defence.
Two fumbles lost and two interceptions thrown helped the Eagles, led by Kenny Pickett, cruise to a 41-7 win at Lincoln Financial Field.
The Cowboys have been woeful at home this season, going 2-6 to their 5-3 road record, and the Commanders will be looking to keep the momentum of their four-game winning streak going into the postseason.
So, the Week 18 picks from the NFL odds go to the Washington Commanders on the spread for -4.5 and there to be over 44 total points in the game.
New Orleans Saints at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Obliterated by injuries, the New Orleans Saints still had a winnable game on the cards last week with the Las Vegas Raiders coming to town, but they couldn’t deliver. By full-time, the Saints had lost 25-10 at home.
Derek Carr, Peter Werner, Alvin Kamara, Payton Turner, and Kendre Miller all failed to practice this week, while Chris Olave, Juwan Johnson, and Marques Valdes-Scantling appear to be in contention to play in the Spencer Rattler-led offence this week.
On the complete flipside, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers continue to make the most of their more favourable schedule to power towards the playoffs. Last week, Baker Mayfield laid waste on the resurgent Carolina Panthers.
En route to a 48-14 win, Mayfield threw five touchdowns, didn’t get picked, and Mike Evans added 97 more yards. That leaves the receiver with just 85 more to get against the Saints to secure his record-levelling 11th straight 1,000-yard campaign.
Mayfield is red hot and Evans is vying for that record, so watch as the two light up the Raymond James Stadium in Week 18. The NFL picks go to Evans beating the over for total receiving yards and for him to score an anytime touchdown.
Miami Dolphins at New York Jets
Tua Tagovailoa just can’t catch a break. After battling his way back from yet another concerning concussion to steer the Miami Dolphins to playoff contention – which they’re technically still in now – he suffered a hip injury.
Still, with the ball given to “Snoop” Huntley under centre, the Miami Dolphins conquered the Cleveland Browns in Ohio 20-3. This week, they’ve prepared as though Huntley will be starting again.
Primed to at least throw his 500th career touchdown pass to join some all-time greats of the NFL, Aaron Rodgers got himself a different, less enviable record: he’s now the most sacked quarterback in league history.
It’s as much a scathing indictment on the Jets’ offensive line as it is their season overall and the failed experiment of trying to build a superstar offence around Rodgers – which is apparently influenced by the Madden video games.
Rodgers looks primed to start in Week 18 as they try to scupper any hopes of the Fins getting in. Miami kick-off at the same time as the Denver Broncos (who host the resting Kansas City Chiefs) so they could put the pressure on.
The Dolphins need to win and the Jets continue to fail to liftoff, leading the NFL Week 18 picks here towards the Dolphins at -1 on the spread and De’Von Achane to score an anytime touchdown against the joint-third leakiest rushing defence in the league.
With plenty still to prove, the betting picks for Week 18 in the NFL lean towards success for the Commanders, Bucs, and Dolphins.
