San Francisco 49ers at Los Angeles Rams Prediction – Thursday Night Football Tips

Week 5 in the National Football League gets underway on Thursday night, with an all-NFC West clash between the Los Angeles Rams and the San Francisco 49ers.
Both teams boast a 3-1 record heading into the Week 5 contest and notching a victory over a rival is as much about the psychological factor as anything else – especially in such a competitive division.
The NFC West is turning out to be one of the strongest divisions in the National Football League, with three of the four teams boasting a 3-1 record through the opening four weeks of the campaign, while the Arizona Cardinals are 2-2 this year.
Who will prevail at SoFi Stadium on Thursday night? Here, I preview the action ahead of the 49ers vs Rams match and look at some of the best NFL bets available at William Hill.
San Francisco 49ers at Los Angeles Rams Odds:
Punters can bet on Los Angeles Rams v San Francisco 49ers at William Hill and here is the current state of the market ahead of Thursday Night Football:
- San Francisco 49ers – 7/2
- Los Angeles Rams – 1/5
While both teams are 3-1 heading into Thursday night’s clash, the Rams are looking much stronger and they are a short price to add another victory to their record.
The 49ers suffered their first defeat of the season last week, slumping to a 26-21 home loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Ball retention was a major issue in the defeat, with San Francisco turning the ball over four times.
With quarterback Brock Purdy likely to be ruled out of the clash, Mac Jones could make his third start of the year and he may struggle against one of the top defensive units in the NFL.
The Rams have got the better of the 49ers in each of their last three meetings and quarterback Matthew Stafford is playing at an elite level – he can be the difference in a clash like this. Victory here looks like a formality, the question is – by how far?
It depends how potent the Rams offence is. Their mean defensive front can force turnovers but Los Angeles will need to capitalise and this is where Kyren Williams can really step up and take control of the running game.
There will be plenty of focus on Stafford and wide receiver Puka Nacua after last week’s victory over the Indianapolis Colts but I’m expecting the Rams to run riot on the ground and Williams to score a touchdown and record 78 or more rushing yards is worth a bet at 9/5.
It’ll probably come as no surprise to anyone who’s looked at the American football odds ahead of this contest, but I’m expecting the Rams to win. And they should win comfortably.
Rams vs 49ers best bet: Rams to win by 10 points or more (19/20)
