Houston Texans (31/20) @ Kansas City Chiefs (4/7)
A fascinating matchup here, as the Houston Texans visit the Kansas City Chiefs. The Texans have three wins out of their last two games and have already secured their place in the playoffs.
They face a real test here in the form of the Kansas City Chiefs, who could well be without star quarterback Patrick Mahomes who may miss the tie through injury. They are preparing for yet another Super Bowl defence, it may well be wise for the multiple MVP to not rush back into action before a packed play-off schedule.
If he is to be absent, the chances for the Texans increase of course, but there is reason for Houston fans to be enthused about their side’s chances as we look forward to the 2024 season playoffs.
A 28/1 chance for Super Bowl 59, they aren’t completely out of the picture this year and if they can keep up their strong defensive displays like we saw against the Miami Dolphins, they could go on a play off run. This weekend’s game is a great chance for them to gauge the level they are at.
Philadelphia Eagles (20/37) @ Washington Commanders (33/20)
The current 9/2 second favourites for Super Bowl 59 is the Philadelphia Eagles, and there’s no reason to believe they can’t go the entire way after a great performance against a solid Pittsburgh Steelers.
They are now tied at the top of the NFC standings with a record of 12-2, although they do face a tricky customer here in the Washington Commanders. Finding themselves in the play off picture, Washington have been a tough match for anyone following the inclusion of rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels and it was a well-matched affair last time these two sides met.
The Eagles have stepped things up since that meeting, and it’s a tougher game for the Commanders this time around. Jalen Hurts’ side have gone ten unbeaten and look a warm order to go all the way this year.
Minnesota Vikings (4/6) @ Seattle Seahawks (13/10)
The Seattle Seahawks need to bounce back after a disappointing loss to the Green Bay Packers, it won’t get any easier as they face the Minnesota Vikings. They may well be without quarterback Geno Smith, by any means he won’t be fully fit and this may well tell in the tie.
The Minnesota defence has been rock solid this season, which has been a real driver of their increased performance levels, and it’s been a revelation of a season for quarterback Sam Darnold who is enjoying a good run of form in his breakout season.
