World Series Game 6 Predictions – Los Angeles Dodgers at Toronto Blue Jays Tips
The Toronto Blue Jays are one win away from their first World Series in 32 years after winning Games 4 and 5 in Los Angeles.
Toronto is the World Series betting favourite for the first time since these teams reached the Fall Classic. The Los Angeles Dodgers need to win consecutive games at Rogers Centre to defend their title.
Dave Roberts tweaked his lineup for Game 5, promoting Will Smith above Mookie Betts and dropping Andy Pages to the bench. It didn’t reap rewards, with the Dodgers held to a lone run (off a solo homer). Los Angeles’ bullpen was once again found wanting, while the lineup was unable to generate consistent pressure on rookie sensation Trey Yesavage.
The Dodgers are turning to Yoshinobu Yamamoto, fresh off two complete games, for Game 6. Toronto has Kevin Gausman taking the mound with the chance to pitch the Jays to the title and prevent the Dodgers from going back-to-back.
Rogers Centre is going to be absolutely rocking. Toronto, baseball betting underdogs before opening day, unfancied at the All-Star break, and written off more than once in this postseason, is one win away from history, and perhaps from preventing a dynasty. It is a phenomenal opportunity for a franchise that is backed by the vast majority of neutrals.
Best Bets: Blue Jays Over 3.5 Runs, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Over 1.5 Total Bases, Blue Jays Moneyline
We are going back to what has been profitable throughout these playoffs. It’s advantage Toronto as they get to see Yamamoto for a second time. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. added an eighth home run of the postseason in Game 5 and has relished the high-decibel crowds at Rogers Centre throughout this run.
There’s no way Yamamoto goes into the eighth or ninth again. Roberts is in an impossible position – remove Yamamoto early and he exposes the bullpen; keep Yamamoto in and he gives a dangerous lineup extra looks at his starter.
Gausman will take confidence from how the Dodgers were baffled by Trey Yesavage’s splitter. Perhaps a day off helps the Dodgers get back into their groove at the plate after seeming fatigued ahead the Game 3 epic, but too many of Los Angeles’ hitters have underachieved in this postseason.
