Celebrity X Factor: Max and Harvey out to shock favourite Megan McKenna

| BY News Team

We’re down to the final four in Celebrity X Factor as we gear up for Saturday’s grand final.

Megan McKenna, Max and Harvey, Jenny Ryan and V5 are the last contestants standing and will all battle it out to be crowned champion and land themselves a deal with Simon Cowell’s record label.

Ahead of Saturday’s showpiece, we preview the final four’s chances of winning.

Megan McKenna – 2/7

Megan McKenna has been the frontrunner this series from the off pretty much and goes into Saturday’s final as the favourite once more to secure that record deal with odds of 2/7. The former Ex On The Beach star is no stranger to lighting up our television screens, having also previously starred in Celebrity Big Brother and The Only Way Is Essex, which looks to have helped her in the popularity stakes.

Megan, who booked her place in the final with Roxette’s ‘It Must Have Been Love’ last week, has impressed judges by writing and performing her own songs in the competition as well as singing a cappella, but has been criticised at times for sticking with more pedestrian-paced renditions, which could be her undoing if anyone is to cause an upset on Saturday and pip her to top spot.

Max and Harvey – 9/2

If anyone is capable of toppling Megan it’s YouTube sensations Max and Harvey. The brothers have been a breath of fresh air for the competition with their energetic and well-staged performances keeping judges and viewers entertained throughout, with their version of One Direction’s ‘Kiss You’ doing the business last week to send them through to the final.

While the duo struggle to rival Megan’s voice, their eclectic mix of rapping, singing and entertaining offer a more-rounded proposition that arguably means Max and Harvey are the more natural fit for a record deal. Used to wowing their 334,000 YouTube subscribers on a regular basis, expect them to do that once again to millions watching on Saturday. And given the short odds on favourite Megan to be triumphant, Max and Harvey at 9/2 are certainly the value bet worth backing.

Jenny Ryan – 15/2

Previously only known prior to Celebrity X Factor as being The Vixen on quiz programme The Chase, Jenny Ryan has since proven to be a real revelation on the weekly singing contest show. Jenny wowed the judges with her rendition of Adele’s James Bond theme tune ‘Skyfall’ last weekend to book her place in the final and that performance was representative of the powerful singing displays she has been turning out each week.

Saturday’s final, however, may prove to be one step too far for Jenny as it’s hard to see how she can contend with the popularity of Megan and Max and Harvey, so odds of 15/2 may be best avoiding, unless of course she can deliver one final show-stopping performance.

V5 – 12/1

Last but not least in the running for Saturday’s final is V5, the social media influencers from South America who have a combined social media following of a whopping 11 million and boast over 250 million channel views. Arguably facing the toughest challenge in having to impress an audience who know little about them, like Max and Harvey they have turned out varied and energetic performances each week.

They too seem like a natural fit to be real pop stars, with last week’s cover of ‘September’ by Earth, Wind & Fire another entertaining affair. It doesn’t seem like they have enough left in the tank to secure victory on Saturday though, with their 12/1 odds reflecting that, but either way, given their marketability and huge social media followings, it seems Simon Cowell may well offer them a record deal anyway.
