Chantelle Cameron v Katie Taylor 2 Preview: Fiery rematch set to go the distance

| BY News Team

Chantelle Cameron and Katie Taylor are back in the ring together to face-off for the second time following the first edition of this fight back in May this year.

Cameron was the victor last time, handing Taylor a first professional loss, so this rematch is bound to be all-action as Taylor doubles down to prove she has what it takes to defeat Cameron.

We preview the fight below.

Cameron looks to double-up

Heading into their rematch, Taylor admitted that she wasn’t at her best in their first bout but feels more confident this time, both mentally and physically. Unlike the last fight, there’s no homecoming buzz, but she’s dealing with the pressure of avoiding back-to-back losses.

Cameron nailed a win in front of a loud Dublin crowd last time. She took control with her size advantage, and though Taylor’s fast hands were there, they weren’t enough. Taylor’s 37 now, with a bunch of tough fights under her belt, and some critics think it might be catching up with her.

Cameron, being five years younger, doesn’t have those worries.

Whilst Chantelle Cameron is odds-on at 1/2 to outperform Taylor for the second time, and a price of 11/2 to win by split decision, the safest bet is that it’s going to be a real showdown. Cameron’s proven she can handle a hostile crowd, making her a solid favourite. Taylor’s likely to come out swinging, eager for payback, but moving up in weight against a champ like Cameron might be a tough ask again.

Cameron, the undisputed super-lightweight champ, isn’t mincing words about the rematch in Dublin: “I’m going in there with a chip on my shoulder and plenty of aggression, knowing I’ve just got to finish the job against Katie Taylor.”

Taylor to come out all guns blazing

With what will be a huge opportunity for redemption, Taylor is unlikely to leave anything in the ring this time around and is 8/5 to get the better of Cameron, whilst you can find 7/2 on her to win by unanimous decision with William Hill’s Enhanced Odds.  She’s clearly amped up like never before for this fight and has everything to prove, not only to her fans, but to herself.

Taylor, a legend in the boxing world amongst her Irish fans, knows how good she can be. Given her last performance didn’t quite hit the mark, she will not hold back in writing off the blemish from her otherwise perfect record.

Following 18 fights undefeated, it’s hard to see Cameron falling victim to Taylor ahead of their rematch. Since last November, she has claimed the undisputed championship, becoming the first female to do so and has no plans on ending her hot form here.

Much like last time, the fight is expected to go the distance and is 1/9 for that to happen, so it’s worth looking for value elsewhere. Both fighters are 20/1 to be knocked down in the final round and should they get there, they won’t be pulling any punches.
