Daniel Dubois v Joseph Parker: Brit Fancied If Bout Rescheduled

Despite pulling out of Saturday night’s fight with Joseph Parker due to illness, Daniel Dubois is a short price to beat the New Zealand fighter should the bout be rescheduled in the future.
The British fighter was looking to add to his 22 professional fight victories but was withdrawn from the bout on Thursday after being medically evaluated. Dubois is the IBF heavyweight champion, making a successful defence of his belt last September by stopping Anthony Joshua in front of a packed out Wembley Stadium.
According to boxing betting odds with William Hill, the British heavyweight is as short as 1/2 to defeat Parker despite the 33-year-old’s impressive knockout victory over stand-in fighter Martin Bakole in Riyadh.
Parker is now the WBO interim heavyweight champion and he may get a shot at the great Oleksandr Usyk, though the New Zealander is as big as 9/4 in the sports betting to prevail against the talented Ukrainian.
Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “Saturday night left boxing fans wanting more, with Daniel Dubois pulling out at the last minute, but we’re confident he will come back for another shot at Joseph Parker.
“Should Dubois re-schedule his fight with the New Zealand-born heavyweight, we’d make the Brit a firm 1/2 favourite to come out on top.
“With a potential title fight against Oleksandr Usyk on the cards though, Parker may want to set his sights on the Ukrainian. Unsurprisingly, we’d make Usyk the 1/3 favourite for that bout, with Parker out at 9/4.”
Usyk is widely regarded as one of the greatest pound-for-pound fighters of all-time and he has already cemented his status firmly amongst the greatest boxing stars to step into the ring.
