Conor Benn has emerged as the public’s pick to get revenge over Chris Eubank Jr. in their long-awaited rematch this weekend, according to the latest data from William Hill.

The leading bookmaker reports that 72% of all bets on the bout have been placed on Benn (5/4) or a draw (14/1), leaving just 28% of betting activity favouring Eubank Jr. (8/11).

More than half (52%) of total bets have backed Benn to win outright, while Benn by KO/TKO (3/1) is the single most popular selection in the method-of-victory market.

Eubank Jr. remains the favourite to defend his bragging rights at 8/11, while the 35-year-old is 2/1 to repeat his previous success inside the distance. However, the betting momentum suggests punters are banking on Benn to come out firing in what promises to be another explosive encounter.

Interestingly, punters went the same way ahead of the first fight earlier this year, backing Benn over Eubank Jr.

William Hill spokesperson Lee Phelps said: “Attention turns to Chris Eubank Jr. vs Conor Benn 2 this weekend, and our punters have clearly made up their minds as to who they think will come out on top.

“Revenge for Benn is the favoured outcome here, with 52% of bets placed on a Benn victory and that share jumps up to 72% when including the draw. That means just 28% of bets are on Eubank Jr. to win.

“Benn will likely come out all guns blazing, and the most popular selection in our method-of-victory market is Benn via KO/TKO at 3/1.

“One selection that may be overlooked is the draw at 14/1, given their fathers’ famous trilogy saw Eubank Sr. take the first fight, with a draw in the second.”

Check out our last preview of the first fight between Eubank Jr. and Benn.

The Benn vs Eubank feud is one of British boxing’s most enduring rivalries and their sons’ second meeting comes with unfinished business.

The first fight between the pair was a bruising encounter that saw Eubank Jr. emerge victorious, continuing the family legacy after his father, Chris Eubank Sr., famously bested Nigel Benn in their own grudge match in 1990.

This time, however, public sentiment appears to be swinging towards Benn. His aggressive style and his desire to avenge the defeat, has made him the punters’ pick despite the bookmakers keeping Eubank as favourite.

Benn’s supporters believe his relentless pressure and power punching could overwhelm Eubank, whose measured, technical style has occasionally left him open in high-tempo exchanges.

Boxing journalist Gareth A. Davies told William Hill’s Final Round: “We got a brutal war between Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn last time and I think we’ll get the same again here.

“Benn will go at it hard after a feeling-out process. Eubank will try to get behind his jab and box a bit more, but Benn will accelerate into the fight by round two or three. He’ll make it a war again and expose himself a little bit more in doing so. He’ll be easier to hit and Eubank will go with him to the end.”
