Floyd ‘Kid Austin’ Schofield v Lucas Bahdi Predictions: Texan TKO in Chicago

| BY News Team

Floyd ‘Kid Austin’ Schofield gets his first world title shot on Saturday 10 October, when he takes on fellow unbeaten Lucas ‘Prince’ Bahdi for the vacant WBA lightweight title at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago.

Schofield vs Bahdi Betting Tips

  • Floyd Schofield – 1/8
  • Lucas Bahdi – 9/2

Our prediction: Floyd Schofield By KO TKO or DQ – 11/10

The case for Schofield

At 24, Schofield is a full eight years younger than Bahdi and boasts a 19-0 record, with 13 knockouts. The Texan’s hand speed and timing are his biggest weapons, and he showed both against former world champion Tevin Farmer, blasting him out in a round on the Jake Paul v Julio Cesar Chavez Jr undercard in June 2025.

The concern is inactivity. That win was his last outing, so he will have been out for around 16 months. His previous world title chance, against Shakur Stevenson, fell through after he withdrew through illness during fight week, and a wrist injury scuppered a planned fight with Joseph ‘JoJo’ Diaz Jr.

The case for Bahdi

Bahdi is 20-0 with 15 knockouts, and the Canadian has a habit of ruining unbeaten records. He has handed three opponents their first professional defeat, and his late knockout of Ashton Sylve in July 2024 was a KO of the year contender. He also has a 2-inch height advantage, and his last fight saw him outpoint former WBA super featherweight champion Roger Gutierrez over 12 rounds.

He is a big underdog at 9/2, but his power means Schofield can’t afford to switch off, and any rust from the layoff will give him the chance he needs.

Schofield v Bahdi Prediction

Schofield’s speed, youth and class should be too much over 12 rounds. Bahdi has the punch to cause an upset if Schofield looks sluggish early on, but we expect the American to settle into a rhythm, pick his shots, and box his way to a tidy KO TKO or DQ.
