The Final Round | Fury to win on an epic night at Wembley

| BY News Team

It’s almost time. The waiting is over. Are you ready for the ‘Battle of Britain’?

This Saturday, at a full Wembley Stadium, two of Britain’s top heavyweights go toe-to-toe as Tyson Fury puts his WBC belt on the line against Dillian Whyte.

It’s a homecoming for Fury, who has not fought in the UK since 2018. While for Whyte it is finally his chance to get his hands on a world title.

In this week’s Final Round, David Alorka and Gareth A Davies took an in-depth look into the fight and who they think will come out victorious.

“It’s a huge fight globally, of course it is, one of the biggest heavyweight fights out there,” said Gareth.

“The key is they’re both in the prime of their careers, that’s why there’s a record-breaking 94,000 spectators coming to Wembley Stadium. It’s all set up for an epic, classic, heavyweight contest between two British heavyweights.”

But who is going to come away with the belt? Well, Gareth is backing the champion to be too strong for his challenger.

“Physically, Fury of course is the taller, slightly heavier man,” added Gareth. “They both have really big wingspan, both have very long reach, which is fascinating.

Dillian Whyte is an aggressive come-forward fighter with a good jab, one of the great check left hooks, counter left hooks. He’s brilliant with that left hook. He’s one of the biggest punching heavyweights with that left hook that maybe we’ve ever seen.

“He’s going to be very dangerous.”

Gareth added: “It’s all going to be about the adaptability and versatility of Tyson Fury, and how he chooses to fight.

“Will he switch to southpaw? Will he be orthodox? Will he be defensive? Will he try to out-box Dillian Whyte? Will he get his jab off first? Will he lean on Dillian Whyte? Who’s the stronger man in there?

“The key for me is how Dillian Whyte responds to how Tyson Fury takes this fight. We’ve seen in recent fights as well from Tyson Fury, since he worked with SugarHill Steward from the Kronk Gym, that he does like to get more aggressive now. That might give Dillian Whyte more openings.

“Rightfully, Tyson Fury is the favourite going into this, how will that weigh on him? For me there’ll be real drama in this fight. It will be a classic.

“It wouldn’t surprise me to see both men down, but I’m picking Tyson Fury to win on points or by late stoppage.

“But you cannot write Dillian Whyte off either. It’s more than a puncher’s chance. It’s heavyweights. It’s Dillian Whyte. He really believes it will be an amazing story if he beats Tyson Fury. But as I say, I’m picking Tyson Fury for the win on an epic classic night at Wembley.”
