Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn: Punters Backing Benn For KO

Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr will step into the ring at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday night, following in the footsteps of their famous fathers.
There has been plenty of talking over the past few years but it’s now time for action and punters are backing Conor Benn to get the better of Chris Eubank Jr after permission was granted for the bout to take place in an 18-foot ring.
Benn pushed for a ring that was smaller than standard and that has led many to believe that he will attack Eubank Jr with a barrel of punches in the early exchanges, with his opponent unlikely to be able to dance around.
Over 50% of bets placed on the fight result have been for Benn while 55% of the money in the KO/TKO/DQ market has been in his favour as well, suggesting that punters are coming around to backing the underdog.
Priced as the 7/4 outsider in the outright odds, Benn would be a ‘shock’ winner but it would be a bad result for William Hill if Benn was to win inside the opening four rounds given the number of bets taken on that outcome.
Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “Punters appear to be getting excited about this weekend’s fight between Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn and we’ve seen steady business with interest in all three possible outcomes.
“Conor Benn seems to be the pick for our customers though, with 50% of all selections in the bout betting market on him. He is also well-backed in the KO/TKO/DQ market, with 55% of all money in that market on him, accounting for 30% of all bets on the fight.
“Benn to win in R1-R2-R3-R4 looks set to be the worst result for us, with 41% of round betting stakes placed one of those 4 rounds.”
