Ashes First Test Odds: England Favourites After Chaotic Opening Day In Perth
It was an incredible opening day at Perth and England are now clear favourites to win the first Ashes Test according to the latest odds at William Hill.
With a total of 19 wickets falling on day one, the tourists are now as short as 4/9 to win the opening Test of the series and momentum is well and truly with England ahead of day two on Saturday.
Ben Stokes’ men traded as high as 9/2 to win in Perth after the visitors were bowled out inside 33 overs but England fought back with an imperious bowling display and Australia were 123/9 at the close of play.
The hosts were left frustrated after a batting collapse in the final session of play, with Australia now out to 8/5 to win the opener while a stalemate is out at 100/1 – though this admittedly looks very unlikely.

England showed plenty of grit and determination to fight back after a poor start with the bat and the tourists will take plenty of confidence from their bowling display on the opening day.
