England vs India Third T20I 2026: Predictions, Odds & Betting Tips
England will face India at Trent Bridge in the third match of a five-game T20 series on Tuesday and William Hill News previews the game here.
The hosts currently lead the series 1-0, with the first match being cancelled due to rain. Over the weekend, the hosts chased down India’s total of 190, putting on 191 runs for six wickets in 19 overs.
Jacob Bethell starred with the bat alongside Harry Brook, while it was Sam Curran who proved most dangerous with the ball.
Captain Brook will be hoping his side can put in a similarly good performance here and take a 2-0 lead.
Prediction
After India did some nice work with the bat, things couldn’t have started much worse for England than losing both openers for ducks in the opening over. Despite that they showed their batting quality down the order and stuck it out well to rebuild and eventually win the match. If things go their way earlier on with the bat, they’re capable of both posting a serious total, or chasing just about any score. England are the pick at 4/5.
England 4/5
England will take to the field with an unchanged side, as they look to justify their 4/5 favouritism and go two wins clear in the series with two matches to play.
The like of Bethell, Brook and Curran have all shown they deserve to keep their place in the side for this match, but T20 mainstays Jos Buttler and Phil Salt will hope for a performance more in line with their reputations after both were out for ducks in the opening over at Old Trafford last week.
In a series like this it is often beneficial to side with the in-form players and Jacob Bethell looks to be in his stride at the moment. He is boosted from 7/2 to 5/1 to be England’s leading scorer once again, and that looks to be good value.
India appeared to struggle more with the pace and swing provided by England’s seem bowlers than the turn from the spinners. With that in mind you can go against Adil Rashid (16/5) at the head of the top bowler market, and instead look to Sam Curran to provide the wickets again at 4/1.
India EVS
Despite all the pre-game talk surrounding rising star Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, it was Abhishek Sharma who proved the dominant opener, while Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer were also key to posting India’s 190-run total.
Arshdeep Singh was the man responsible for taking two wickets in the opening over and he proved to be India’s most effective bowler. His figures of three wickets for 40 runs in four overs were only bettered by Sam Curran, so it’s no surprise to see him as the 11/5 favourite to be India’s top bowler.
It’s hard to ask for improvement from batters who put 190 runs on the board, but if one man can take the game by the scruff of the neck and post a serious score then it could well be the captain, Shreyas Iyer. His 37 runs of 22 balls was a warning sign for England, and he can be taken at 7/2 to be India’s top batter.
