The Women’s Cricket World Cup is on the horizon, with eight teams facing off across India and Sri Lanka.
Australia are the defending champions and are favoured to retain the title once again. Let’s look at the likeliest winners.

Australia Women – 4/5
At the odds-on price of 4/5, the Australians are undoubtedly the likeliest winners of the World Cup this time around.
The Aussies are the most successful team in Women’s World Cup history, having won seven of the 12 tournaments, far more than any other nation and they arrive at this one as the reigning champions.
Their batting lineup has several of the world’s best, with their bowling department boasting a mix of pace and spin bowlers, evidencing the depth and flexibility they have across their squad to deal with different scenarios in matches.
Batters Beth Mooney and Phoebe Litchfield head the betting for the Tournament Top Runscorer at prices of 7/2 and 4/1, showing the firepower they have at the crease.
They have performed well, as mentioned, at previous World Cups, showing their aptitude for knockout and high-pressure matches, with their form in recent years backing it up.
They are rightly well fancied to win the tournament once again at 4/5, with it 1/6 that they reach the final, and it’s difficult to see a team besting the Aussies once again.
India Women – 10/3
If there is a team that can down Australia, it could be India Women who are priced at 10/3.
You can’t quantify the benefit that home support will bring for the Indians, and with a strong squad in its own right, they could be a value proposition at 10/3 to win outright and EVS to reach the final.
Batter Smriti Mandhana is in brilliant form, recently becoming the number one ranked player in the ICC Women’s ODI batting rankings. She can be backed at 9/2 for top runscorer, that looks a fair each way bet with the four places available.
They may just fall short to the firepower of Australia once again, but with the draw looking to go in their favour, they could be a good bet at odds against to reach the final here.
England Women – 9/2
England enter the 2025 Women’s World Cup with a well-balanced squad and real potential to go deep. Under new coach Charlotte Edwards and captain Nat Sciver-Brunt, they’ve strengthened their spin attack which should pay dividends on turning pitches in India.
Their batting has some firepower, openers like Tammy Beaumont and Amy Jones have put in strong runs and returns for experienced players like Heather Knight offer stability.
However, consistency has been an issue. England have had mixed results this year, and there are questions over their depth. Fielding lapses and the occasional batting collapse under pressure remain concerns.
Overall, England are among the top contenders, but they may still have a little to find with the likes of Australia and India.
