Luke Littler favourite to win PDC World Darts Championship 2025

We’re less than two weeks away from the start of the beloved PDC World Darts Championship 2025 and Luke Littler is set to enter the competition as the outright favourite for the first time.
Littler priced at 2/1
Following last year’s breakout tournament, Littler returns to Alexandra Palace as previous runner-up and favourite at 2/1. Littler’s ascent in the world of professional darts has been nothing short of remarkable. Born in Warrington, England, he made headlines as one of the youngest players to compete in major PDC events, showcasing a maturity and skill level beyond his years.
His consistency on the oche, combined with his calm demeanour under pressure, has drawn comparisons to some of the sport’s all-time greats, as well as being the youngest ever player to hit a televised nine-darter.
Littler’s recent performances have been a key factor in current levels of confidence behind him. He will be hoping to top off his excellent year with a win at the World Championships, alongside his other achievements such as winning the PDC Grand Slam, Premier League and World Series.
The Nuke came agonisingly close to becoming the first ever debutant to win the PDC World Darts Championship in 2024, but was defeated in the final by Luke Humphries, seven sets to four. However, this time around, Littler approaches the Championship in flying form, leading the field on averages, doubles and 171-180s in his last 200 legs.
Humphries a close second-favourite at 3/1
Both finalists from last year’s tournament enter the competition as close favourites – a testament to their quality and current form.
Luke Humphries will be looking to retain his PDC World Championship title and become only the fourth player to do so, after Phil Taylor, Adrian Lewis and Gary Anderson. One of the hardest tasks in darts is going into a championship with a target on your back, something Humphries will have to tackle this time around.
Known for his consistency and ability to deliver under pressure, the current world number one has established himself as a top-tier player on the PDC circuit. His recent performances, including a stellar run in televised tournaments, have solidified his reputation as a genuine threat to the title, hence his price of William Hill’s valuation at 3/1. Fans and analysts alike are eager to see if he can rise to the occasion at Alexandra Palace once again.
Anderson and Van Gerwen in pursuit
Two-time PDC World Champion Gary Anderson stands at 9/1 in the betting, closely followed by the 2014, 2017 and 2019 champion, Michael van Gerwen at 11/1. It’s been a long time since Van Gerwen has been the fourth favourite coming into the World Championships, with the Dutchman failing to pick up a televised title this year. Much like the Flying Scotsman, MVG will be looking to ask questions of both Lukes and reclaim the PDC World Darts Championship.
