| BY News Team

The 2025 Premier League Darts season continues with Night Four on Thursday, February 27, at the Westpoint Arena in Exeter.

This event features eight of the sport’s top players competing in quarter-finals, semi-finals, and a final, all played over the best of 11 legs.

Tournament Format

The Premier League Darts operates on a league system, with players earning points based on their performance each night. The top four players at the end of the league phase will advance to the playoffs, culminating in the final at The O2 arena in London on May 29.

Night Four Matchups:

  • Michael van Gerwen vs. Rob Cross: Michael van Gerwen is off to a frustrating start in the Premier League, having reached the semi-finals on all three nights to date but is yet to progress beyond that, with some crucial missed doubles preventing him from picking up more points. That said, The Dutchman has produced a high level of darts in all of his openers, and he will be determined to go all the way in Exeter, a feat he managed at this same venue in both 2022 and 2023. Rob Cross is yet to bring his A-game to the Premier League this year, with ‘Voltage’ having only picked up one victory across the three weeks of action. With this in mind, ‘The Green Machine’ is odds-on at 4/7 to claim victory over Cross – who is the underdog at 11/8.
  • Gerwyn Price vs. Luke Humphries: Gerwyn Price returned to top form last week in Dublin, storming to victory by defeating Luke Littler, Luke Humphries and then Nathan Aspinall. The Welshman is now up to second place in the Premier League table, and he faces a rematch with Humphries just a week later. After impressing against Stephen Bunting in his opener last week, ‘Cool Hand’ was well below his best against Price but the world number one is backed to exact revenge this time around. The pair have already met twice this month, with Humphries winning the first encounter in Glasgow, so that sets this quarter-final up nicely as the top two aim to cement their top-four position. Even off the back of Price’s recent victory, Humphries is 4/7 to beat the Welshman, who is 11/8.
  • Chris Dobey vs. Nathan Aspinall: Chris Dobey has been unfortunate in that he’s faced some opponents that have played excellent darts. After a promising first week during which he reached the final in Belfast, Chris Dobey has fallen at the first hurdle in both Glasgow and Dublin. The world number eight also claimed a Players Championship tournament victory just over a week ago, so his game is clearly in good shape as he prepares for this quarter-final and is the favourite at 8/11. Nathan Aspinall finally got on the board last week by defeating Rob Cross and then Michael van Gerwen to reach the final in Dublin, where he lost to Gerwyn Price. The Asp has been under significant pressure having failed to pick up any points in the first couple of weeks, but is finally off the mark and will be looking to continue his surge into Night Four; he’s 11/10 to beat Dobey.
  • Stephen Bunting vs. Luke Littler: Memories of 2015 are coming back to haunt Stephen Bunting, as it was the last time the 39-year old competed and also struggled to find form. The world number five is the only player yet to pick up a point, and he will start to feel the pressure as the weeks tick by without a win. It took until the fifth week of action in 2015 for him to record his first victory, which incidentally came in Exeter, but that piece of trivia isn’t enough to make him the favourite at 5/2. Luke Littler stormed to victory on Night Two in Glasgow, but he has otherwise lost his openers in both Belfast and Dublin. Despite that though, the darting sensation boasts the highest tournament average at this early stage and his two defeats have come against inspired opponents. He’s the favourite to dispatch ‘The Bullet’ at 3/10.

Tournament Favourites

Understandably, Luke Littler is favourite to claim the Premier League title this year at 5/4, following his success in the competition last year as well as his recent PDC World Championship victory. ‘Cool Hand’ Luke Humphries narrowly trails ‘The Nuke’ at 2/1, followed by league veteran Michael van Gerwen at 5/1. Gerwyn Price is 7/1, while Chris Dobey and Stephen Bunting shares odds of 25/1 with Rob Cross to emerge as surprise champions, with Nathan Aspinall at 33/1.
