Luke Leeds the field into Premier League Darts Night 14

| BY News Team

Night 14 of the Premier League heads to Leeds with the race for the O2 entering the home straight and here are William Hill News’ predictions.

There are four clear favourites for the night, but there are storylines and potential upsets everywhere you look.

Predictions:

Gerwyn Price 6-4 Jonny Clayton

Luke Littler 6-4 Michael van Gerwen

Josh Rock 3-6 Luke Humphries

Gian van Veen 6-4 Stephen Bunting

Gerwyn Price (4/7) v Jonny Clayton (11/8)

The night opens with an all‑Welsh clash that could have a huge bearing on the play‑off picture. Gerwyn Price is 4/7 to get the better of Jonny Clayton, who is 11/8.

Price has quietly pieced together a strong campaign, regularly winning his quarter‑finals and staying right in the mix for a top‑four finish with a combination of solid 100+ scoring and improved doubling.

Clayton has been more up‑and‑down but still very much in the hunt, and these two know each other’s games inside‑out from years of pairing up in the World Cup.

The Ferret’s best route is to turn this into a scrappy, double‑heavy contest, where his natural rhythm on the outer ring can really shine. However, if Price gets in front early and starts feeding off the Leeds crowd, his intensity and scoring power usually prove hard to live with.

Prediction: Price to edge it – something like 6–4 feels about right.

Luke Littler (1/3) v Michael van Gerwen (23/10)

Second on stage is the headline act: league leader Luke Littler against Michael van Gerwen in a repeat of several of this season’s biggest clashes.

Littler is 1/3 with Hills, while MVG is an eye‑catching 23/10 underdog. That pricing reflects how dominant the darting sensation has been across the season: multiple nightly wins, a stack of 100+ averages and a seemingly endless supply of 180s.

Van Gerwen’s season has been more erratic, but he’s still produced nights where he has looked every inch the three‑time champion, with bursts of vintage scoring and ruthless finishing.

Over a race to six, though, Littler’s current level and fearless approach mean he wins this more often than not, particularly if he can hold his throw under the early pressure MVG is almost certain to apply.

Prediction: Littler to win, but MVG is dangerous enough that 6–4 or even 6–5 is more likely than a rout.

Josh Rock (7/4) v Luke Humphries (4/9)

Quarter‑final three pits Josh Rock against world champion Luke Humphries. William Hill go 7/4 Rock, 4/9 Humphries.

Rock has shown flashes of his enormous potential throughout the campaign, but inconsistency and a few key missed doubles have kept him rooted near the bottom of the table.

Humphries hasn’t turned dominance into as many nightly titles as some expected, yet he remains one of the most reliable players week to week, regularly posting big averages and putting himself deep into the evening. His scoring phase is arguably the most solid in the field right now.

Unless Rock finds one of his very best performances, Humphries should have enough to control the tempo and pick off the big checkouts when they matter.

Prediction: Humphries to progress – a 6–3 or 6–4 win feels the likeliest outcome.

Gian van Veen (8/13) v Stephen Bunting (13/10)

The last quarter‑final sees two of the season’s most watchable players meet in a match that could swing the whole night.

Gian van Veen is 8/13 favourite, with Stephen Bunting 13/10. Van Veen has been one of the breakout stars of this year’s Premier League: fearless, heavy scoring and capable of reeling off legs in no time when he finds the treble 20.

Bunting’s campaign has had higher highs and lower lows – he already has a nightly win to his name, but he’s also gone out in a few first matches when his scoring has dipped. If he settles early and starts finding that smooth, high‑arching throw, he has every chance of turning the odds on their head.

Still, Van Veen’s recent form and his habit of starting strongly give him a slight edge in a first‑to‑six sprint.

Prediction: Van Veen to win a close one, perhaps 6–4
