Finals Night

The format slightly changes as we enter the final stage of this year’s Premier League. The usual short format of Premier League group games, of best of 11 legs, has been extended to a best of 21 legs with the winner the first to 10 legs.

There will be two semi-finals, in which the winner of each will meet in the final to crown this year’s winner. Last year’s winner and current World Champion Luke Littler is the warm order to follow up this year again, priced at 4/5. Littler and Luke Humphries are widely considered the two leading players around now having already seen some brilliant games between the two of them this year – Humphries is behind Littler in the market at 2/1.

Gerwyn Price (6/1) and Nathan Aspinall (10/1) make up the final four, whilst both players are considered as less likely winners, both have the game to match anyone’s at their best and that’s been shown in their own individual campaigns in this year’s Premier League – they can’t be written off.

William Hill ambassador Wayne Mardle has had his say on the winner and has gone for Luke Humphries to win the night. The Leeds man can be backed at a boosted price of 9/4 which looks very fair should he bring his A-game.

Semi-finals

The two at the front of the market for the outright betting Luke Littler and Luke Humphries both avoid each other in the semi-finals after being seeded first and second, and are considered short favourites for their individual matches priced at 3/10 and 4/11 respectively. Their chances are obvious, but their prices look too short to play, so it may be worth dipping into some other markets to look for some value.

The boosted price of 9/4 for Littler to beat Gerwyn Price, whilst recording the most 180’s and highest checkout looks a spot of value. Littler is rightfully the favourite for the match after his form throughout the campaign, his scoring power is like no other and would be a strong favourite to record the most 180’s over Price. The boost from 3/10 to 9/4 for what is essentially him to hit the highest checkout if he wins, looks a fair price.

Whilst Humphries is the likelier winner in the second semi-final, it may pay to get the Asp onside. He’s well worth his place in the four and whilst he’s had struggles with injuries – he has shown he can still play and beat the best. He mustn’t be underestimated here against Humphries, EVS for Aspinall +2.5 in the match handicap and 21/10 for him to win the semi-final both look like good bets. Braver punters may want to take a flier at the 10/1 he wins the Premier League – you’d be on good terms with yourself if he progresses to the final!
