Gerwyn Price vs Luke Humphries Prediction

After each winning their semi finals in relative comfort, the fourth and second seeds, respectively, meet in the final of the World Grand Prix on Sunday night. Luke Humphries is competing in his third straight World Grand Prix final. Champion in 2023, Humphries lost to Mike De Decker in 2024 and Luke Littler in 2025.

Price, tipped up by William Hill ambassador Wayne Mardle ahead of the tournament, also has one title and three final appearances at this event. He won in 2020 and was the runner-up to Jonny Clayton in 2021 and to Humphries in 2023.

The head-to-head is historically very close. Humphries has a 16-17 record against Price, but he’s 15-9 in the matchup since Price won eight of their first nine contests.

Where Price had some frustration with Nathan Aspinall in his semi-final, Humphries was calmer and put in his best performance of the tournament to beat James Wade.

In his post-match interview, Humphries said, “I did say I was going to play a lot better and I did – I felt a lot more relaxed.

“That was the real me there today and I’m really proud of myself for performing like that. It’s been a long time since I’ve felt that control and not like I was going to flounder a little bit.

“To make four Grand Prix finals on the trot is super special. It’s history and I’m proud of that but unless I pick that trophy up, unfortunately that history doesn’t mean anything.

Both throwers are looking to end long ranking droughts. Humphries hasn’t won a ranking event since the 2025 World Masters, despite several near-misses. Price has to go back to 2021 for his most recent ranking crown.

We expect a highly competitive match between two in-form men, but Humphries should edge it and back up sports betting odds.
