Atletico Madrid head into Sunday’s derby in buoyant mood after responding to their defeat at Athletic Club with back‑to‑back La Liga wins, the latest a commanding 4–0 victory over Osasuna at the Metropolitano on Wednesday night.
Diego Simeone’s side sit just two points behind Real Madrid with 13 points from six games, a tally they’ve only bettered at this stage once since 2021/22, and they’ve also won their last two home meetings in this fixture.
Keeping Real quiet is never straightforward, but Atleti should take confidence from their recent defensive form — three clean sheets in their last four home league games — and can be backed at 5/2 with William Hill to win Sunday’s big clash.
