Harry Kane continues to be backed with William Hill for the 2026 Ballon d’Or, with his odds more than halving since the beginning of October.

Kane was as big as 14/1 at the start of the month, but after making it 20 goals in 12 club games for Bayern Munich this season, the England captain has shortened all the way into 6/1 and accounts for the most bets and stakes in the leading bookmaker’s 2026 Ballon d’Or market.

Kane sits behind Lamine Yamal (11/4) and Kylian Mbappe (3/1) in the betting for next year’s award, occupying third spot in the market having pulled ahead of both Erling Haaland (10/1) and this year’s winner Ousmane Dembele (12/1).

Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “Kane looks better than ever this season and at the moment there’s no stopping the England captain as he continues to bang in the goals for Bayern and the national team.

“His remarkable scoring form has seen him more than halve in price this month for next year’s Ballon d’Or, shortening into 6/1 from 14/1, and he is now third in our market behind only Lamine Yamal (11/4) and Kylian Mbappe (3/1).

“If Kane can keep up his scoring run in the Bundesliga and Champions League as well as helping to guide England to the later stages of the 2026 World Cup, then he looks to have real claims of becoming England’s first Ballon d’Or winner since Micheal Owen in 2001.”

Latest Ballon d’Or Odds:

  • Lamine Yamal – 11/4
  • Kylian Mbappe – 3/1
  • Harry Kane – 6/1
  • Erling Haaland – 10/1
  • Ousmane Dembele – 12/1
  • Vinicius Jr – 16/1
  • BAR – 20/1

*Odds accurate at time of writing

When the England forward confirmed his decision to join Bayern Munich, many predicted that it would be a turning point in Kane’s career – a movement which would signal a “winding down” of the striker as he approaches 32 years of age. But that couldn’t be further from the truth.

At the time of writing, Kane has netted 74 goals in 70 Bundesliga appearances, in addition to 21 assists – which doesn’t suggest he’s slowing down one bit. Instead, he’s even being linked with a move back to the Premier League, with many suggesting he could take on Alan Shearer’s all-time goalscoring record.

But in the present, Kane continues to defy his age and critics, arguably producing some of his best numbers to date in terms of contributions. In terms of his chances for the Ballon d’Or, he sits behind Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappe. At 6/1, he could well be a value bet at the moment, as the Englishman is showing no signs of slowing down.

Should Bayern go deep in their competitions, such as the Champions League and Bundesliga, we should easily see that price cut further. Having scored over 400 goals in just over 600 appearances, many would argue that Kane would be hard done by to not be recognise by football’s most prestigious individual award.
