Can English Clubs Win An Historic European Treble?
English clubs are strongly fancied to dominate the European finals this season, with Arsenal, Aston Villa, and Crystal Palace all to win their respective finals priced at slightly bigger than 10/3.
UEFA Europa League Champions – Aston Villa
Aston Villa did their job in Istanbul to claim their first major trophy since 1996, with a 3-0 victory against German side Freiburg, whilst Unai Emery secured his fifth UEFA Europa League trophy, that’s now two more than any other manager having previously won the competition with Sevilla (x3) and Villarreal. The Villans were 2/7 to win the UEL and 4/6 to win within ninety minutes with William Hill.
UEFA Conference League Champions – Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace made history in Leipzig after picking up their first ever European trophy following their 1-0 victory against Spanish side Rayo Vallecano in an emotional evening for both sides. Oliver Glasner will possibly go down as Crystal Palace’s greatest ever manager having picked up two pieces of Silverware in his time at the Eagles, the Austrian will leave Palace and move on to another project but he’s left in style. The Eagles were priced at 10/11 with William Hill to win the UEFA Conference League within 90 minutes.
In the Champions League Final, Arsenal are 13/10 to win the tie against holders PSG, which could round off a historic treble in Europe for the three Premier League sides.
UEFA Champions League Final – PSG vs Arsenal Odds:
- PSG – Winner Of Tie (8/13)
- PSG – To Win in 90 mins (7/10)
- Arsenal – Winner Of Tie (13/10)
- Arsenal – To Win in 90 mins (21/10)
Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “It is outstanding that three English clubs have made it to the final of three different European competitions in the same season, and the markets suggest that Arsenal (13/10), Aston Villa (2/7), and Crystal Palace (1/2) all have a huge chance of getting the job done in their respective finals.
“The possibility of a full clean sweep is clearly creating plenty of interest amongst patriotic punters, and backing all three Premier League teams to lift their trophies is available at just over 10/3, which shows there’s genuine expectation that English football could dominate the European finals this month.”
