Champions League Last 16 Preview: United seek first Champions League quarterfinal in four years

| BY News Team

Four sides are in the hat for the quarterfinals draw already but we have another week of Champions League action as we prepare for more Last 16 second legs.

We take a look at the standout fixtures below.

Man United v Atletico Madrid

Anthony Elanga’s late equaliser saw Manchester United hold Atletico Madrid to a 1-1 draw at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium two weeks ago. Ralf Rangnick’s side have been struggling for form in the league but have only lost once in their last eight – against rivals Manchester City – and will take confidence from their win over Tottenham last at the weekend.

United have been eliminated from their last three UEFA Champions League knockout stage games when drawing the first leg but they are priced at 8/15 to qualify this time round. The only teenager to score in both legs of a Champions League knockout tie is Kylian Mbappé but Anthony Elanga is at 14/5 to find the back of the net anytime on Tuesday evening.

Atlético Madrid have lost their last two away trips to face English sides in the UEFA Champions League after losing to Chelsea last season and Liverpool this season. The Spanish giants are 11/8 underdogs to reach the quarterfinals. Angel Correa is enjoying his greatest scoring season so far for Atletico Madrid and is priced at 17/10 to score anytime at Old Trafford this week.

Lille v Chelsea

Although the future of Chelsea is up in the air at the moment, Thomas Tuchel and his side are putting that to one side as they look to continue their brilliant run of form against Lille. The Blues have only lost once in their last 12 games in all competitions and come into this tie full of confidence.

When winning the first leg of a UEFA Champions League knockout tie, Chelsea have gone on to progress from nine of the 11 ties and are priced at 1/50 to qualify yet again. They are also priced at 10/11 to win the match in 90 minutes. Kai Havertz is the main man for Chelsea at the moment and the German is priced at 29/20 to find the back of the net anytime on Wednesday evening.

Lille have been eliminated from each of their previous three European knockout ties when losing the first leg. The French side have put together a run of five games unbeaten in Ligue 1, but they face a different challenge against Chelsea. If you feel as though an upset is on the cards, Lille are priced at 12/1 to qualify for the next round. Jonathan David has scored 17 goals in all competitions so far for Lille this season and he is priced at 11/5 to add to that tally against The Blues.
