Now, let’s take a closer look at some betting angles for Tuesday night’s UEFA Champions League fixtures:
Brest v Paris Saint-Germain – Tuesday, 5.45pm
- Brest have impressed on their UCL debut and have a chance to upset the odds in this all-French affair.
- The Pirates finished eighteenth in the league phase, only behind PSG on goal-difference.
- Brest must be at their best if they are to have any chance of getting something from this game. The two sides met at the start of the month, with PSG winning 5-2.
——————————– - Paris Saint-Germain have really taken their performances to that next level, their last defeat came back in November against Bayern Munich, seventeen games ago.
- Luis Enrique’s side are a real attacking threat now, having scored twenty goals in their last sixteen games. Ousmane Dembele has now scored in his last seven games, with a total of thirteen goals in that period.
- The last six meetings between these two sides have seen both teams score, whilst PSG have won seventeen of their last eighteen meetings, drawing the other.
Prediction: Both Teams To Score & PSG to win, Brest 1-3 PSG.
Juventus v PSV – Tuesday, 8pm.
- Juventus finished just a point within the top twenty-four after failing to win any of their last two league phase games.
- The Old Lady come into this fixture off the back of consecutive Serie A victories for the first time since November.
- Randal Kolo Muani has scored in each of his first three games for Juventus, the Frenchman now has five Serie A goals and will be looking to score his first in the UCL for the Bianconeri.
——————————– - PSV Eindhoven came from behind twice in their final league phase game against Liverpool to win 3-2, although missed out on the automatic qualification spots by just two points.
- Peter Bosz’ side head to Turin off the back of a disappointing 1-1 draw against Willem II on Saturday.
- PSV lost this fixture 3-1 back in September, despite the game being fairly even on the stats. The Dutch side would love to head back to Eindhoven next week still in this one.
Prediction: Kolo Muani to score anytime, Juventus 2-1 PSV.
Manchester City v Real Madrid – Tuesday, 8pm.
- Manchester City followed up their 5-1 defeat at Arsenal by scraping past League One side Leyton Orient in the FA Cup on Saturday.
- Pep Guardiola’s side are lacking confidence and it’s showing, a visit from Real Madrid is not what they need right now.
- These two sides have met eight times in the Champions League since 2020, with seven of those eight seeing both teams find the back of the net.
——————————– - Real Madrid themselves aren’t at their best right now, although they do remain at the top of La Liga by a point following their 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid on Saturday evening.
- With Mbappe, Vini Jr, Rodrygo and Bellingham all set to start, Los Blancos will be hoping they can make a real statement against this City defence.
- I think we can expect goals in Manchester, with Carlo Ancelotti still without arguably his best four defenders.
Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Real Madrid to win, Manchester City 2-3 Real Madrid.
Sporting v Borussia Dortmund – Tuesday, 8pm.
- Sporting made it through into the play-off stages via goal difference after failing to win any of their last four UCL games, their last win in this competition came against Man City under Ruben Amorim.
- That winless run could come to an end on Tuesday night though, as Sporting are yet to face defeat on home soil whilst Rui Borges has been at the helm.
- These two sides have met four times since 2016, with Sporting winning just one and losing three.
——————————– - Borussia Dortmund could count themselves unlucky not to have qualified automatically, missing out by just point despite winning five of their eight UCL games.
- The Prussians have turned to Niko Kovac following the dismissal of Nuri Sahin, Kovac could be key here if Dortmund avoid defeat, given he lost none of his six UCL away games whilst in charge of Bayern Munich.
- However, Dortmund have really struggled on the road, having lost nine of their last thirteen away games in all competitions.
Prediction: Sporting 2-1 Borussia Dortmund, Sporting to win.
