Now, let’s take a closer look at some betting angles for Wednesday night’s UEFA Champions League fixtures:
Arsenal v Dinamo Zagreb – Wednesday, 8pm
- Arsenal will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing 2-2 draw with Aston Villa on Saturday, a victory here would put them well on their way to securing a place in the last 16 automatically.
- The Gunners are unbeaten in their last eight UCL games on home soil, whilst they are still yet to concede a goal in this campaign at the Emirates Stadium.
- Arsenal have won three of the last four meetings against Dinamo Zagreb, they should have enough to make it another win here.
——————————– - Dinamo Zagreb head to North London occupying the final play-off place, edging PSG & Stuttgart by a single point.
- The Blues have picked up two wins from their six UCL games so far, both of which came away from home.
- Fabio Cannavaro’s side haven’t played a competitive football game since 22nd December 2024, which could play a part in this one.
Prediction: Arsenal 3-0 Dinamo Zagreb, Arsenal -2 Handicap.
Celtic v Young Boys – Wednesday, 8pm
- Celtic will look to keep up with the pace in the UCL, as Brendan Rodgers’ side remain hopeful of qualifying for a play-off spot, they sit in twenty-first with just two games left to play.
- The Hoops have lost just one of their first six UCL games so far, whilst they haven’t lost a home game in any competition since their 2-0 defeat to Hearts back in December 2023, impressive.
- With a trip to Villa Park coming up for Celtic, this could be classed as a must win and could play a vital part in their campaign.
——————————– - Young Boys remain one of three sides that are yet to pick up a single point in the UCL, they sit bottom of the table on goal-difference, having scored just three and conceding twenty-two.
- Giorgio Contini’s side are already out of the competition, they are simply now playing for pride, they’ll be hoping to upset the odds in Glasgow.
- Young Boys have conceded five goals in two of their three away trips in this competition.
Prediction: Celtic 3-0 Young Boys, Celtic to score 3 or more goals.
Real Madrid v Salzburg – Wednesday, 8pm
- Real Madrid bounced back from their humiliating defeat in the Spanish Super Cup against Barcelona with two victories in their last two outings.
- Los Blancos need to win their last two games to make sure they guarantee themselves at least a play-off spot, they sit just two points above the elimination section.
- Kylian Mbappe is a man back in form, the superstar has now scored four goals in his last three games, i’m expecting more here.
——————————– - RB Salzburg head to Madrid with only three points and realistically need to win if they are to keep their slim chances of qualification alive.
- The Red Bulls have conceded at least three goals in four of their last six UCL games.
- Thomas Letsch has replaced Pep Lijnders following his sacking last month, this will be his first competitive game in charge of the club.
Prediction: Real Madrid to score 4 or more goals, Kylian Mbappe to score a brace.
Paris Saint-Germain v Manchester City – Wednesday, 8pm
- Paris Saint-Germain must avoid defeat in this one, they sit just outside the top twenty-four places by a single point with only two games left to play.
- Victory here for PSG would move them above Manchester City and give them a real chance of securing a play-off place. However, the Parisians have only beaten City once in their last seven encounters.
- Luis Enrique’s side have only won one of their last three UCL games on home soil, scoring just one goal per game.
——————————– - Manchester City might be finding their feet again, although hiccups are still to be expected. Pep Guardiola’s side have now scored twenty goals in their last four games following their 6-0 victory away at Ipswich on Sunday.
- Like their opponents, Man City have won just one away game during this campaign and are winless in their last three UCL games, they haven’t gone four in this competition since 2014.
- Phil Foden will be hoping to continue his fine form, the “Stockport Iniesta” has had seven goal involvements in his last four games.
Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Man City to win, Phil Foden to score or assist.
