Here are the stand-out pairings alongside my considered score predictions to assist your football betting.
Leeds United v Stoke City
2024/25 Championship Head to Head
Boxing Day Thursday 26th December 2024: Stoke City 0-2 Leeds United
Leeds United – Some 16 home wins and 51 goals scored represent the Championship’s highest totals respectively. Leeds have only lost once at Elland Road in the EFL during 2024/25. That was 1-0 against title rivals Burnley on Saturday 14th September.
Stoke City – Only four victories on their travels this season. Yet the most recent away encounter saw a 1-0 success over Cardiff City on Saturday 12th April.
Score prediction: Leeds steamroller 4-0.
Burnley v Sheffield United
2024/25 Championship Head to Head
Boxing Day Thursday 26th December 2024: Sheffield United 0-2 Burnley
Burnley – Facing a potential automatic promotion decider. The Clarets protect this division’s final unbeaten home record having racked up 12 wins and nine draws with merely six goals conceded.
Burnley’s last Turf Moor defeat was 2-1 versus Nottingham Forest in Premier League endeavours back on Sunday 19th May 2024.
Sheffield United – 12 victories, four draws and five reverses on the road. But significantly their last two away engagements have resulted in setbacks… 1-0 at Oxford United on Saturday 5th April and 2-1 at Plymouth Argyle seven days later.
Score prediction: Tension fraught 0-0
Sunderland v Blackburn Rovers
2024/25 Championship Head to Head
Boxing Day Thursday 26th December 2024: Blackburn Rovers 2-2 Sunderland
Sunderland – Another 40,000-plus crowd will assemble at the EFL’s best supported club.
Sunderland have only lost twice at the Stadium of Light across 2024/25 – most recently 1-0 against Swansea City on Saturday 12th April, four days after end of season Play-Offs participation had been confirmed for the Black Cats.
Blackburn Rovers – On the same afternoon, Blackburn prevailed 1-0 down at Luton Town thereby terminating a run of four successive away losses.
Score prediction: Riveting 4-4.
Luton Town v Bristol City
2024/25 Championship Head to Head
Boxing Day Thursday 26th December 2024: Bristol City 1-0 Luton Town
Luton Town – Symmetrically indifferent home fortunes reflect seven wins, seven draws and seven defeats.
Luton’s last Kenilworth Road maximum pointer was four games ago when Portsmouth were dispatched 1-0 on Saturday 1st March. Since then, they’ve scored once in three Bedfordshire outings.
Bristol City – Only four away victories contrast dramatically to 12 at home. The last occasion Bristol City’s travelling fans had something to cheer about was on Tuesday 4th March cruising 2-0 at Millwall.
Score prediction: Hatters heroes 2-1.
Plymouth Argyle v Coventry City
2024/25 Championship Head to Head
Boxing Day Thursday 26th December 2024: Coventry City 4-0 Plymouth Argyle
Plymouth Argyle – Eight wins on Devon soil have kept Argyle in with a shout of avoiding relegation, as opposed to one away conquest.
They can take great heart by coming from behind last time out at Home Park to cement the 2-1 triumph versus promotion chasing Sheffield United.
Coventry City – A lowly tally of six away victories could yet scupper chances of making the Play-Offs. The Sky Blues haven’t won among three road trips since edging Oxford United 3-2 on Saturday 1st March.
Score prediction: Cov in command 2-0.
West Bromwich Albion v Derby County
2024/25 Championship Head to Head
Boxing Day Thursday 26th December 2024: Derby County 2-1 West Bromwich Albion

Score prediction: Absolutely Albion 4-2.
