THE inaugural weekend of EFL Championship action provided our usual blend of high octane football, and William Hill News looking ahead to Sunday’s clash between West Bromwich Albion and Burnley.

Eight teams got off to a flying start masterminding winning results to impact their football betting odds. Curiously though, those three clubs relegated from the Premier League – West Ham United, Burnley and Wolverhampton Wanderers – were unable to record victories.

Kick-off: 12 noon

West Bromwich Albion preview – Jimmy-Jay Morgan’s soft shot shuffle and daisycutter finish secured their winning goal in the 2-1 away day cruise at Norwich City. Also, Albion hope to sign Manchester United midfield man Toby Collyer on a permanent basis.

Burnley preview – Sunday’s 2-2 home draw against West Ham United felt like a victory because Zian Flemming supplied two late goals for Burnley on 83 minutes (penalty) and 92 minutes to dramatically wipe out a 2-0 deficit. Since then, Burnley entered the race to sign Bosnian defender Anel Ahmedhodzic from Feyenoord.
