• It’s been fairly straight forward for Palmeiras so far having qualified from group A above the likes of FC Porto and Inter Miami, Abel Ferreira’s side then progressed into the quarter-final stage after beating fellow Brazilian side Botafogo 1-0 after extra-time.
• The Alviverde have been solid defensively in this competition so far, having conceded just two goals in their four games so far, both of which came in their 2-2 draw with Inter Miami.
• Their defensive unit has been impressive outside of this Club World Cup as well, as Palmeiras have only seen both teams find the back of the net in three of their last fifteen games in all competitions.

• Chelsea also had to participate in extra-time during their last sixteen fixture against Benfica, Chelsea found themselves a goal up with just minutes to play until the game was suspended due to the weather, the players returned two hours later and Benfica made no mistake from the penalty spot with almost the last kick of the game.
• However, Enzo Maresca’s side took full advantage of playing the majority of extra-time with an extra man and took full control of the game, beating the Portuguese giants 4-1 eventually. 
• With Inter and Manchester City both already out of this FIFA Club World Cup, this side of the draw has really opened up for Chelsea, with the Blues now amongst the favourites to win the lot.
