Coppa Italia final preview: Juventus and Inter Milan battle it out

| BY News Team

With both Juventus and Inter Milan winning their semi-finals 3-0 and out with something to prove, this year’s Coppa Italia final promises to thrill.

We look ahead to what is sure to be a hotly contested Coppa Italia final

Juve fight to salvage below-par season

After a season of inconsistency, Juventus are aiming to win back-to-back Coppa Italia trophies and to end on a positive note what has been, by their standards, a mediocre campaign.

Having comfortably beaten Fiorentina by three goals over two legs in the last four, Juve will go into the concluding match of the competition with confidence. Paulo Dybala, who has struck twice in his last three appearances, is in good goalscoring form and is priced at 12/5 to net at any time against Inter.

Having achieved a domestic treble in the 2015-16 season and winning the Coppa Italia four times in a row from 2015-2018 and a whopping 14 times overall, Juventus are no strangers to domestic glory and are priced at 11/5 to win over the 90 minutes on Wednesday.

Juve have secured Champions League football for the 2022/23 season but have yet to rediscover their incredible from of the last decade which saw them win every single Serie A title from 2012-2020.

They will be determined to take something from this season and a Coppa Italia win could be instrumental in giving them a much-needed boost to returning to the scintillating league form they are capable of.

A relative lack of goals has been mainly to blame for Juve’s poor results this season with the club scoring 55 goals so far in Serie A – only the eighth best record in the division. Inter, as a result, are 9/5 to keep a clean sheet.

Inter aim for domestic double

Though Inter Milan haven’t quite reached the sensational heights of last season’s league triumph, they are still in the race for the Serie A title and a domestic double for the fourth time in their history. It won’t come as a surprise that they are the favourites at 6/5 to win in 90 minutes against Juve.

Internazionale’s recent 2-1 loss to Bologna has certainly dampened their chances of securing back-to-back league titles, but rivals AC Milan have a significantly tougher final two games and come up against an Atalanta pushing hard for a spot in the Europa League next season.

With this in the back of Inter minds, there is no doubt they will be playing with intensity and passion, a staple of Italian teams, on Wednesday. Lautaro Martinez, who has had a fantastic season and known for his tenacity, is 4/1 to be the first scorer and 7/5 to bag at any time against Juventus.

Inter have been victorious in two out of their three meetings with Juve this season, winning both games by one goal, while drawing the other. With Inter possessing the best attack in Serie A, it looks likely we could be in for some goals, with both teams to score priced at 4/5.
