England U21 v Germany U21: Betting Preview – 18th June 2025

With two games down in the Euro under-21 Championship, England U21’s head into the final group stage game with everything still to play for.

The Young Lions take on Germany at Štadión pod Zoborom on Wednesday evening, with Lee Carsley’s side needing to take all three points in order to top the group and secure a place in the next round.

Now, let’s take a closer look at some football betting angles for Wednesday’s Euro U21 Championship fixture:

England U21 v Germany U21 – Wednesday, 8pm

  • England started Group B perfectly with a 3-1 victory against Czech Republic but could only manage a goalless draw against Slovenia on Sunday, meaning they currently trail Germany at the summit by two points.
  • A draw here would be enough to secure England’s place in the quarter-final stage which would make it back-to-back qualifications in this competition for the first time since the 2007 and 2009 campaigns.
  • England will of course want to top the group and only a win will be enough to do so, something they’ve managed to achieve in each of the last two meetings between the sides.

  • Back-to-back victories for this young Germany side has been enough to already secure their place in the quarter-final stage meaning the pressure is off Antonio Di Salvo’s side, whilst simply avoiding defeat on Wednesday night will be enough to secure top spot in Group B.
  • The Germans are on a current unbeaten run of seventeen games in all competitions (W14, D3, L0), but they’ll be well aware that their last defeat actually came against England back in 2023.
  • Expect goals in this mouth-watering fixture, with three of the last four meetings producing at least three goals on the night along with both teams finding themselves on the scoresheet.

Prediction: Both Teams To Score & England To Win, England U21 2-1 Germany U21.
