The UEFA Europa League returns this week with clubs from across Europe looking to fulfil their European dreams with the journey to Istanbul continuing here for two sides.

This week, we turn our focus on sides from England and Scotland in the UEFA Europa League,  starting in Denmark and Austria, as Midtjylland welcome Celtic to the MCH Arena. In Austria, Sean Dyche takes his Nottingham Forest side to face Sturm Graz at the Merkur-Arena.

Later on Thursday evening, Aston Villa return to Villa Park to face Maccabi Tel Aviv, whilst Rangers will be hoping to get themselves off the bottom of the table as they welcome Italian side Roma to Ibrox.

Now, let’s take a closer look at some Europa League odds and betting angles for Matchday four fixtures:

Midtjylland v Celtic – Thursday, 5.45pm

Punters can bet on Midtjylland v Celtic with William Hill

  • Midtjylland head into Matchday four of the UEFA Europa League as the league leaders, they remain just one of three sides that maintain a 100% record so far picking up three wins from three games, whilst they are also unbeaten in their last seventeen games on home soil in all competitive fixtures.
  • Mike Tullberg’s side have kept a clean sheet in five of their last six European games but they’ve seen three of their last four games here on home soil produce both teams to score, all of which came in their domestic campaign.
  • These two sides have met twice before back in 2021, with both games ending in a 1-1 stalemate in a UEFA Champions League qualifier tie before Midtjylland advanced after extra-time.
    ——————————–
  • Martin O’Neil will take charge of Celtic in a European fixture for the first time since being appointed at their interim manager, he’s already seen his side beat Falkirk 4-0 before securing a spot in the Scottish League Cup final after beating bitter rivals Rangers in extra-time on Sunday.
  • The Northern Irishman took Celtic to the UEFA Cup final back in the 2002/2003 campaign and the Bhoys will be hoping he’ll put them on their way this year, at least for as long as he remains in charge that is.
  • Celtic will have to improve on an awful away record in Europe though if they are to take all three points here, having not won any of their last fourteen European matches away from home.

Prediction: Draw, Midtjylland 1-1 Celtic.

Sturm Graz v Nottingham Forest – Thursday, 5.45pm

Punters can bet on Sturm Graz v Nottingham Forest with William Hill

  • Having already faced two sides from Scotland in this campaign (Beat Rangers 2-1, lost to Celtic 2-1), Sturm Graz will face another side from Britain as they prepare to face Nottingham Forest on Tuesday.
  • Jurgen Saumel’s side haven’t really recovered from that defeat at Celtic Park, having won four games prior to their trip to Glasgow, they’ve not won within ninety minutes in any of their three games since returning.
  • The Austrian side have seen each of their last four victories in European competitions come on home soil but they’ve also conceded at least two goals in four of their last six main draw European games.
    ——————————–
  • Nottingham Forest got off to the perfect start under Sean Dyche, becoming the first side to beat Portuguese side Porto this season but since that victory Forest haven’t been able to pick up a victory.
  • The Tricky Trees scored two goals in two minutes early in the second half on Saturday against Manchester United but despite that, they’ll feel frustrated having failed to see out the three points in the Premier League with just ten minutes left to play.
  • These two sides have only met twice before, Forest claimed a 2-1 aggregate victory back in the 1983/1984 UEFA Cup quarter final, although this is a tough place to visit, i’m backing Nottingham Forest to get over the line.

Prediction: Nottingham Forest To Win, Sturm Graz 1-2 Nottingham Forest.

Aston Villa v Maccabi Tel Aviv – Thursday, 8pm

Punters can bet on Aston Villa v Maccabi Tel Aviv with William Hill

  • Unai Emery will be hoping he can mark his three-year anniversary as the Villa boss with a victory on Thursday night in a competition which he remains the most successful manager in, although their last outing at Go Ahead Eagles wasn’t great.
  • The Villans managed to bounce back from that shock defeat in the Netherlands with a victory here against Manchester City in the Premier League but that remains their only victory in their last three games, having suffered a 2-0 defeat at Anfield on Saturday night.
  • Aston Villa have won twelve of their last fourteen European home games under Unai Emery (D1, L1), whilst this is the first time this historic club have played against a team from Israel.
    ——————————–
  • Maccabi Tel Aviv sit second in their domestic league and only a point off top spot but transferring that form into Europe has been difficult so far, with the Yellows picking up just one point from a possible nine so far, scoring just one in the process.
  • The Israeli side have now lost nine of their previous twelve fixtures in major European competitions and whilst this is the first meeting between the two sides, Maccabi Tel Aviv have lost all four of their games prior against English sides.
  • Aston Villa have been fantastic at home in all competitions, only Crystal Palace have won here since September 2024 and i’m expecting the Premier League side to bag another victory in this Europa League clash.

Prediction: Aston Villa To Win To Nil, Aston Villa 2-0 Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Rangers v Roma – Thursday, 8pm

Punters can bet on Rangers v Roma with William Hill

  • Rangers enter Matchday four of this UEFA Europa League campaign sat at the bottom of the league having failed to pick up a single point thus far which is very unusual, Danny Rohl is the man in charge now and will be hoping to get off the mark here in Europe.
  • The German has took charge of four games so far, after losing 3-0 to Brann on his debut, he lead his side to consecutive victories against Kilmarnock and Hibernian before suffering heartbreak in the Scottish League Cup semi-final on Sunday against Celtic.
  • Rangers will be concerned going into this fixture as not only have they seen six of their last eight competitive games produce both teams to score, they’ve now also conceded at least two goals in five of their last six European outings.
    ——————————–
  • Gian Piero Gasperini is the man in charge of AS Roma, the sixty-seven year old spent nine years at Atalanta completely transforming the club before winning the Europa League back in 2024, his new Roma side now sit just one point off the top of Serie A.
  • I Giallorossi will feel disappointed with travelling to Scotland off the back of a narrow 1-0 defeat to AC Milan last weekend, especially given Paulo Dybala missed from the spot with less than ten minutes left to play.
  • None of Roma’s last nineteen competitive games have ended in a draw, whilst i feel like we will see a totally different Rangers side under Danny Rohl, i think this class of opposition has come too early for the Gers, i’m back Roma to win in Glasgow.

Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Roma To Win, Rangers 1-2 Roma.
