The UEFA Europa League quarter-final stage will conclude this week, with just four teams progressing into in the semi-final.

@Footy_Tipster gives his best predictions ahead of this round of fixtures in the UEFA Europa League..

The Estadio San Mames will be bouncing on Thursday night, as Athletic Club take on Rangers in this Europa League QF second leg, with it all still to play for following a goalless draw in Glasgow last week.

Now, let’s take a closer look at some betting angles for Thursday night’s UEFA Europa League fixture:

Athletic Club v Rangers – Thursday, 8pm

  • Athletic Club would have left Glasgow with much frustration following their goalless stalemate, following an early Rangers red card, the Lions were handed the advantage but they failed to make it count, especially after missing a penalty with eight minutes left to play.
  • Ernesto Valverde’s side continued their hunt for a UEFA Champions League spot via La Liga on Sunday evening, they had to come from behind before taking all three points with a 3-1 victory, extending their unbeaten run at the San Mames to eight games.
  • Athletic Club remain the only side in the Europa League this season that still have a 100% record on home soil, they’ve won each of their five home games this season, conceding in just two of those, both of which finished 3-1.
    ——————————–
  • Rangers showed real character and resilience in the first leg after having Robin Propper sent off after just thirteen minutes and with just 29% of the possession at Ibrox, a goalless draw leaves the Gers still in with a chance.
  • Barry Ferguson’s side delayed Celtic’s title celebrations after a 2-2 draw away to Aberdeen on Sunday, a game in which Rangers again had a player sent off in the first half, they’ve now seen both teams score in six of their last nine games since Ferguson took over.
  • Rangers will be looking to defy the betting odds in this one but their record away in Spain isn’t the greatest, having won just one of their last fourteen visits here, although that sole victory did occur in their last trip against Real Betis.

Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Athletic Club To Win, Athletic Club 3-1 Rangers.
