European football preview: Big games galore as Milan Derby takes centre stage

| BY News Team

There is plenty of international flavour next week with World Cup qualifying action to look forward to, but before that gets underway we preview two fixtures this weekend from across Europe.

AC Milan v Inter Milan

The Milan Derby is one of the most famous fixtures in football and fans are in for a treat this Sunday when these two sides faceoff at the San Siro.

AC Milan are enjoying their best start to a domestic campaign, which has made them serious title contenders for the first time in recent years, but they face a big test against champions Inter Milan who will be out to end their rivals’ unbeaten run.

Stefano Pioli’s men made it 10 wins from 11 league matches with last weekend’s 2-1 victory at AS Roma, ensuring Milan became the fourth-different side in Serie A history to achieve such a start to a season.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is back to his best, having scored three goals in five league games so far this season and he could be the decider as the 4/1 last goalscorer or 6/5 anytime.

Third-placed Inter are seven points behind their arch-enemies in the table, despite only losing one league match so far.

The champions certainly started the campaign as a team determined to make it two titles in a row, but things have levelled off in recent weeks and they have been unable to keep up with the ferocious pace set by Napoli and AC Milan.

They are behind and in danger of drifting further out to sea. A win here is a must, and everyone at Inter knows it; they are 5/4 favourites to do so.

Both teams will have to be at their best on the Sunday night, and you can find both teams to score and Inter Milan to win at 29/10, with AC Milan 2/1 to win outright or the match to end as a draw at 27/10.

RB Leipzig v Borussia Dortmund

One of the most anticipated games in the Bundesliga this weekend sees RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund clash at the Red Bull Arena.

Leipzig salvaged a point from their Champions League match with Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday, equalising deep into stoppage time from the penalty spot to secure a 2-2 draw.

French International Christopher Nkunku was on target yet again against his former club and is now 15/2 from 6/1 with Enhanced Odds to be first goalscorer on Saturday night.

Andre Silva got the nod up top midweek for Die Roten Bullen, however Yussuf Poulsen is first choice in the league having scored in his last two and they are both 13/10 to score anytime.

RB Leipzig have been vulnerable at the back lately, keeping a clean sheet only against lowly Babelsberg in a German Cup match so you can expect a high scoring game on Saturday night. Total match goals to be over 2.5 is enticing at 4/7.

Dortmund find themselves in second spot – a point behind leaders Bayern Munich – even though nine-goal top scorer Erling Haaland has missed three of their last four league fixtures. Yet BVB have won all four, showing they do have solid options.

Thorgan Hazard has scored three times in his last three outings and can be expected to continue his rich vein of form on the night. He is 21/10 to score anytime.

Under-fire RB Leipzig manager Jesse Marsch will be hoping to secure a much-needed victory here at odds of 21/20. Dortmund are 23/10 to grab a win, while it is 14/5 to end in a draw.
