Now, let’s take a closer look at some betting angles for Friday’s FA Cup fixture:

Aston Villa v Cardiff – Friday, 8pm

  • Aston Villa haven’t won the FA Cup since 1957, they will be hoping they can continue this cup run and end that long wait of FA Cup glory, their 4-0 defeat to Arsenal in 2015 remains their last final in this competition.
  • A 4-1 defeat to Crystal Palace on Tuesday evening extended Villa’s poor away form, so they’ll be glad to be back on home soil where they’ve not lost in their last fourteen outings across all competitions.
  • Unai Emery could make a couple of changes for this one, Villa have played Cardiff here four times since 2009, winning all four of those.

  • Winners of this competitions back in 1927 and runners-up in 2008, Cardiff City will be hoping to upset the odds in this one and secure a place in the quarter-final for the first time since that 2007/2008 campaign.
  • The Bluebirds are currently in the middle of a real relegation battle in the EFL Championship, a 1-0 victory against fellow-strugglers Hull on Tuesday evening has given Omer Riza’s side a six point gap to the bottom three.
  • This is Cardiff’s third consecutive away game in this FA Cup campaign, they’ve already beaten Sheffield United and Stoke City, can they defy the odds in this big task ahead of them?

Prediction: Aston Villa 4-1 Cardiff, Marcus Rashford anytime assist.
