Premier League giants Chelsea are red hot favourites to book their place in the semi-finals of the FA Cup this weekend, with Port Vale looking to spring a huge shock at Stamford Bridge.

Here are our football betting tips for Saturday’s contest between two teams who are lacking confidence right now, and Blues fans will hope that this can act as the catalyst for a successful end to the campaign.

Chelsea lost four matches in a row, and failed to concede in their last three, before the international break. Liam Rosenior is under increasing pressure, and the Blues are without Reece James for the visit of Port Vale.

Port Vale have one win in their last six matches. It’s a period that has included four defeats for the Potteries club, who have knocked Bristol City and Sunderland out of the FA Cup so far.

By far the lowest-ranked team remaining in the competition, Port Vale are in the last eight for the first time since they reached the semi-finals in 1954. The odds are obviously against them at Stamford Bridge, but this Chelsea team is vulnerable.

Before this four-match losing streak, Chelsea were taken to extra time by Wrexham. It was a worrying performance, which set the tone for things to come.

Home advantage – and a considerably weaker opponent – makes this an easier match for Chelsea, but the brittleness of Rosenior’s side means they are unpredictable.
