Lee Phelps’ FA Cup Picks: Isak to continue goalscoring form

| BY News Team

The FA Cup is back for the fourth round and Saturday’s games look like a straightforward six game acca at around 8/1 adding all the favourites in, but anyone can do that, so let’s dig a bit deeper and find some value bets.

Fulham against Newcastle is an interesting one, given the Cottagers great run in the League Cup, displaying both a desire and capability in one-off games. The question is how much does Eddie Howe weaken down, if at all?

I think we have to assume he wants to win a trophy given their league run and lack of European football. As I write this 6/5 for Newcastle is too big a price against a Fulham team who had that midweek game. If you add in Alexander Isak to score it’s getting close to 3/1. The Swede has scored five in his last four games and got the winner against Fulham in the match at St James’ Park last January

Another player worth looking at is Miguel Almiron at 3/1 to score at any time – he’s got three in five against Fulham.

I know everyone apart from Ipswich and Manchester United fans would love to see Maidstone and Newport create a shock, but it’s obviously unlikely. What their prices as big outsiders do however is make the odds on players to score or even have a shot on target bigger, so if you can make an argument for the ‘minnows’ to at least score a goal that may be the best way in.

Maidstone are at Ipswich, who will surely weaken down with Premier League promotion on their minds, so I wouldn’t rule out an away goal. Sam Corne has scored two in their FA Cup run so far and is 7/1 to grab another. As for Newport, Will Evans has 15 goals this season and in a great atmosphere on Sunday evening, he’s 5/1 to score in the match.
