FA Cup Second Round Predictions & Betting Tips – Saturday (2025/26)
The FA Cup second round takes place this weekend. Matches are spread across Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday as teams battle it out to earn a place in the prestigious Third Round in the new year.
Premier League and Championship teams enter the competition in the next round.
Exeter City vs Wycombe Wanderers
Split by seven points in League One, Exeter City are football betting underdogs for the visit of Wycombe Wanderers. The Grecians aren’t having a great season and have lost three matches in a row, including a 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Luton Town in midweek.
Wycombe’s loss to Northampton Town in the week brought an end to a 12-match unbeaten streak.
Exeter won away to Wycombe earlier in the season, but the teams have trended in opposite directions since then. While Wycombe’s away form leaves plenty to be desired, Exeter haven’t exactly been formidable at home. We’re backing an away win in 90 minutes.
Swindon Town vs Bolton Wanderers
Two of the Football League’s form sides meet on Saturday. Swindon and Bolton have been reeling off wins of late, with the former winning seven matches in a row across all competitions.
Bolton smacked Bradford in midweek. They are odds-on to win this fixture, even with Swindon sitting second in League Two and having only lost one home league match this term.
Five of Swindon’s last seven matches have seen both teams find the net. Bolton have been free scoring this team. BTTS and over 2.5 is the pick.
Sutton United vs Shrewsbury Town
Shrewsbury are narrow favourites on the road against Sutton United. The visitors’ form has been slightly patchy. Sutton are unbeaten in six matches.
Talent alone gives Shrewsbury the edge, but Sutton don’t need a miracle with home advantage. This is a club with some impressive FA Cup results in recent years, including a third-round appearance last season and a historic run to the fifth round in 2016-17.
Sutton to win and BTTS is excellent value at 4/1. The Yellows have conceded six goals in four matches.
